The Biggest Decision of a Man’s Life

Postby defiant » Wed Aug 15, 2018 7:31 am

Hey everyone!

I’m sure the regulars on here will know a bit about me and my history. But for those that don’t, my signature pretty much sums things up. However, I would say now that not even cialis would probably work.

I don’t want to live like this anymore. And I’m almost certain I will seek implantation.

However, I need the help and advice of you amazing people!

I’m from London, England. Here we have a number of specialists in implantation but as you may or may not have seen, there have been a few botched jobs. Being the kind of person that I am, I feel like I would be short-changing myself unless I went to the very best in the world. And from what I can see, objectively speaking, that man seems to be Dr Eid.

So all in, I would be looking at approximately 30k GBP which is about 35k US. Flights, hotels, etc etc.

So my questions would be thus:

- Are following revisions ‘easier’ per se to do? I ask because I’m not sure I would be able to manage the cost outlay of going to the US every time and I would rather have revisions completed here in the UK.

- Following that, is it common place for other surgeons to revise implants put in by other teams? Must be, surely...

- Is the lifetime guarantee of the implant voided if you go to another medical team to have it installed?

- Would my doctor be offended if I chose to go to the US and only used him or his team down the line for revisions?

I just want to be sure of the absolute best result and until last night where we saw a thread of a man who unfortunately picked up an infection that sidelined him for 18 months, I hadn’t seen one negative story or poor outcome reported from Eid’s clinic.

I’m NOT here to advertise him at all! I’m from central London. I’ve never met the man! But he does seem to be top notch and people like Merrix, Cnidium and the rest all give a young man like me hope.

I don’t want floppy glans or a poorly sized cock.

Thanks!!
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

I have been following your posts and have seen the posts from your side of the pond about some sizing/floppy head issues so you have a justification for seeking alternatives. My only recommendation would be to see if there are any other specialists in your area before coming all the way here to have the procedure. Not only for cost, but the travel post surgery will be unpleasant, and having a resource closer in case you need a follow up post surgery.

I went to the Coloplast site and did a doctor search and found a surgeon 10 minutes from my home. Met with this man who is in his mid 30’s and was able to answer all of the questions to my satisfaction that I harvested from this site. He was easy to talk to and could judge he would be very responsive to my care. He did a stint with one of the top surgeons after school and is now working at my local hospital. I am completely satisfied with my results so far at week 5.

If you exhaust your local options then I would think the trip over would be justified but would say some points need to be added for the convenience of having a local option. I have seen my surgeon 3 times over the past few weeks as I had a concern and he made room to see me each time same day to put my mind at ease.

Thanks, David.

I actually do have a specialist, the man that I’ve been seeing in fact, his name is David Ralph and he has done incredible things including giving a man who had no penis, a penis!

I just feel as though I need some assurance I’m with the very best. It’s the sizing issues that give me the most concern. And Eid always seems to hit the target.

And I can think of at least 5 different users here who all travelled great distances, whether from another part of the US or from overseas to see him and they all had excellent results.

I guess I agree with the fact that you need to look for the best, but don’t be shortsighted about the options. The surgery alone in my country costs around 15K and after insurance i still have to cover 5K, but the procedure was done by a top surgeon in the field, with hundreds of implants of experience and in one of the top clinics. This guy is president of the urology association over here and is interviewed on a regular basis about ED and this procedure. Poor marketing, but nevertheless a top doctor on his field, several ED publications locally and internationally. I did quite a good research on this and even when I’m still learning a LOT, i think that the overseas option should be really well analyzed. Consider any complications you might have post-op and how this is going to impact a visit to the urgency room or any further complications. As you said, is not that you can go every other day taking planes to assure that your head doctor is going to take care of your situation. Consider also the pain associated with travelling, etc. If you are completely and utterly sure that no specialist in your area-country has sufficient experience and good ratings to undergo this operation, than i would say, go for it.

I found it impossible in the UK to obtain travel insurance that does not exclude travel undertaken for medical purposes, meaning that I would have no medical insurance, not just in relation to the procedure itself, but potentially for any illness or accident that might have befallen me on the trip. I wasn’t prepared to visit the US for medical treatment without having medical coverage I could rely on and which at best depended on the insurers not finding out why I was really there.

I see you were implanted in Blighty. Who was your surgeon and are yo happy?

From what I've read on this site and elsewhere, Dr. Ralph is highly regarded as one of the top penile implant surgeons in Europe. Why don't you shoot either Dr. Eid or Dr. Kramer an e-mail and ask them the following: if they needed an implant and did not want to leave the U.K. for the procedure, who would they recommend?

I’d rather not name the surgeon on the forum, but happy to do so by PM if that would help, drop me a message if so.
I’m not totally happy with the results of my procedure to be honest (though I’m glad I had it done as it has definitely improved things). I think my relative disappointment arises mainly from issues stemming from my prostatectomy which are not a reflection on the abilities of my implant surgeon and obviously these wouldn’t arise in your own circumstances.

I don't know about Dr. Eid, but I think Dr. Kramer would give you an answer. In fact, Dr. Ralph is a friend of his if I remember correctly...
