In Surgery and Posting Live - My Journal

Postby Hawkman » Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:36 am

As I type this I am undergoing surgery for a 3 piece Titan penile implant by Dr. Eid, a world class surgeon in this specialty.

Many gasped when I posted about my intention to be awake and alert during this surgery. Why did i do it? I did it for s few reasons. first, I wanted to be part of the process that intimately affects me and have the rare opportunity to observe and interact with a true master applying his skills. Next, I wanted to reassure those that need and long for this surgery not to make it worse in their mind than it is, especially when you are in the hands of a truly great surgeon and a dedicated team. Finally, I gain the benefits of no side-effects from general anesthesia including activating my sleep apnea. Stay tuned for any updates from the OR.

i am now the proud owner of two Titan 22cm cylinders. Dr. Eid just pumped it up and showed it to me before he bandages it up.

Pretty sure I would pass out if I saw my own surgery. I would think it would be traumatizing and would not want those images in my head.

Kudos to you for having the mental fortitude to be able to witness your own surgery.

Not only do you have a new implant, you've got balls!
Age 47. ED for over 20 years. Diagnosed with Hypogonadism. Pills and trimix do not work consistently. Implanted with 24cm AMS CX 12/12/17. Infected implant removed and replaced with AMS Spectra 2/18/18. Implanted with 26CM Titan 10/02/18. So far so good.

. thanks for that. it made me laugh out loud. to be clear, i did not watch. they blocked my view with a small drape and said it was to keep the surgical field steril but i suspect it was as much a visual. barrier as anything. when i asked Dr. eid if i could see the finished product rather than waiting 3 days he moved the drape and pumped it up. i was shocked at how NOT traumatized it looked. i suspect the swelling and bruising will set in in the next day or two.

about half of the OR conversation was just friendly small- talk.

i also had a little apprehension going in but the worst pain to date has been pulling tape off of my arm. there was no sensation of dull pain, no sense of prodding or poking. it was literally fun.

Due to head and neck cancer surgery & treatment I too was spinal but also under twilight. Awoke with legs numb and a sandbag on my crotch but no pain either. Didn't even have a Foley catheter just bandage and a drain. Of all my surgeries this was the easiest to endure and recover from.
Glad it went well for you, it only gets better ! ;)

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Cheers man!
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.
