I was able to walk from the Bentley to Eid's office on day 3 post surgery. Walking and standing around at TSA were not a problem at all, but sitting upright like in a car was very uncomfortable for a few days. It's more of a dull ache than it is pain anywhere. Can you get a lie-flat seat on the train?

You shouldn’t need a cane at all after implant surgery. For me it was just that I walked as if I had just gotten off a horse, not that it was difficult to walk.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

If you don't use a cane in daily life it's very unlikely you'll need one after implant surgery (which I recently heard referred to as an "addadictomy" ).

Doctor will I be able to play piano after the implant procedure?

Doctor: Yes, I don't see why not.

Patient: That's wonderful I could never play piano before!

on day 3, i was able to walk 5 city blocks --- slowly no cane unless for some reason you are unsteady

you might have a rough time carrying heavy suitcases onto the train and around the tairs of grand central. consider a back pack ????

I just had my implant this past Tuesday. NO, you wont need a cane. I was picked up by my wife and we ran to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription pain meds, where I walked in and around the pharmacy less than 24 hours after surgery. YES you will have a hard time sitting up and doing anything quickly for a while.

No one here can accurately answer that question, too many variables.

You will have a post-op visit with Dr Eid before he discharges you. He's the best one to decide whether you are fit to travel that day. If not, stay over another night.

I found it comfortable and convenient to travel with the catheter in, and removed it when I got home that night.

How soon after surgery did you remove the catheter? I thought Dr. Eid says to leave them in 3 days not counting the day of surgery.
