I am already 20+ months post RP and still no sign of life from my penis.
I had bilateral nerve sparing according to my surgeon but it did not prove to be beneficial in my case.
Hope for my insurance to approve an IPP which I gladly would take as a solution for my ED and continue with my life after all struggle after RP.

My RP URO told me he took all my nerves. Chance of life 1 million to 1. Trimix caused pyronies. IPP at 7 1/2 months. 28 July 2017 I was having orgasms. Implanted 13 weeks now and healing.

Urologists kept telling me I needed to wait 2 years till something might happen. About 5 years later I was sent my pathology records by mistake and saw for the first time the pathology for nerve bundle left, nerve bundle right along with other parts. Knew then nothing was ever going to happen. When I learned implants existed, I found a doctor in the south that did implants at the time of the prostectomy and a link on his web site to an NIH study that said most prostatectomy or radiation patients experience E.D. and overall 90% will experience total dysfuntion within 3yrs of surgery having exhausted all other options. This was quite the opposite of all the hype for selling a prostatectomy or pellet radiation. One doctor told me 120 days after surgery minimum though I was years past already, another told me that the prostatectomy surgeon needs to start you on vacuum pumping 2 weeks after surgery and if you wait till 90 days to start so much scar tissue had developed that it won't be much help. I was at about 85 days post surgery when I had been referred to him for E.D. Answer, doctors give different answers. Some I found because so many insurance companies require the 2 years. It sucks.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

My URO told me at 1 week ck up that all nerves were taken. He sent me to a physical therapist that specialized in incontenence and penil rehab therapy. The second week after Rp i started using the VAC for rehabilitation. The PT had the doc order trimix which I had delivered to get the first injection at the 6 week check up. That is the way it should be done. I was one of the 30% that are allergic to trimix. Minor pyronies at 6 months and doc suggested an implant. Implant complete at 8 1/2 months after RARP.

I notice that you are the same age as me born 52 and you were implanted last year so I assume you were covered by Medicare. My Uro tells me that I need to wait to see if anything happens. Well I know that there was very little happening before my partial nerve sparing RP. Which we all now is not a cure for ED. So I would like to know if you had any trouble getting approved .I have tried Trimix and I can only say that the pain was awful and the results were not usable. the Uro told me to increase the dose I guess he doesn't understand that I told him " IT HURTS LIKE HELL". If it worked and I got a usable erection I would not enjoy sex with the amount of pain associated with the injection. I live in Southern Massachusetts and I'm looking into who in the Boston area would be a good Doctor to see to have the surgery. I would rather not have to travel to far but want a good outcome. Any help with the Doctor choice or info on the insurance would be helpful.

I agree 110%. I also found the injections very painful. The doctor asked me to just give it a chance, so, for him, I did. All but 1 of my needle sticks were sucessful but, as you said the sex was not enjoyable because my dick hurt so much. Some hsve suggested that my pain tolerance is low... As a resuld of being a paramedic for 15 years and doing a lot of heavy lifting, I blew a disc in my lower back which is pressing the sciatic nerve. Anybody who has ever had sciatica knows that it is very painful. I have had sciatica 24/7 since 17 January, 2011.... no, my pain tolerance is not low... those freakin needles HURT/BURNS. I got your back brother. :)

A year after my RPP -- bladder control had been regained after 4.5 months, yippee! -- I started working on my E.D. (my doctor had told me that erectile function could take longer to regain if if did). For various reasons I only tried the suppository (MUSE), which sometimes worked and sometimes didn't and which burned, before I decided on an implant. I had it inserted 2 years after my RPP and my wife and I have been happy with an implant ever since. :D

I am on medicare. I walked into the urology dept that I chose. Told the doc that I wanted an implant. My rp doc suggested I get one. Told him my problems with trimix and we scheduled the implant 3 weeks later. From where you live ,I would call dr Eid and schedule an implant. Several guys here from LA traveled cross country Bl air to have Eid do theirs.
