You didn't mention which technique was used. Infrapubic or Penoscrotal. IF guys tend to get back in the saddle much quicker than PS. (see my bio below). Always follow your Dr. directions but maybe seek other patients from this DR. and their experience?

Dr Eid's current protocol is to start cycling three days after surgery in a hot bath.
This is totally contradictory to Dr. Clavell who says to wait at least 3 weeks before beginning to cycle and NO baths, only showers.
I am using Dr. Eid.
Eid has over 7000 implants, .4% infection rate.
Clavell has 1000+ implants, less than 1% infection rate.
Both penoscrotal.
Two top surgeons with totally different after surgery protocols??????

Great point, hard to say just listen to your doc when two of the best do it differently. My hunch is wait till your wounds heal, clavell goes in through the nuts, so maybe its more to do with keeping the incision clean vs the internals?

2 weeks after implant, just after soaking in the hot tub ,a gentle sucking from the wife was very soothing. Doc left me 80% pumped up and said leave it alone for 4 weeks till my follow up. Just saying

Nats56, in my case I think the drs instructions was sex at 4 weeks. Actual time was 6 weeks because my wife was out of the state.
I have two points of view on this. Considering on how much would be riding on early sex. Like who wants to be operated on again? Take your drs advice, you payed for his skill & you should trust his advice. Second, most of us have not had penetrative sex for quite a while. What would waiting for 4-6 weeks hurt?

Thanks everyone. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks for me. Had my first follow up yesterday but it was just the PA doing the exam. No new instructions. Just looked at everything to make sure it was OK. I mentioned to her that I'd been pumping twice everyday for close to 2 weeks and she said I really ought to talk to the doc. Well, that appointment is not until 1/9/24. I've been reading a lot of different opinions on here and elsewhere and it seems that a lot of them want you to start pumping as early as the pain will permit. There was a little pain the first couple of times but now only occasional mild discomfort. I guess the no sex part is the hardest (yes, it's a lousy pun) to endure right now. Luckily, I guess, my wife has more sense than me and she sez' to wait for the ok. I will mention that I did have the peno-scrotal technique and was implanted with the AMX 700 LGX. I'm in fairly good shape, 67, 181lbs, 6'-1". Exercise 5 days a week so I think that probably helped with the relatively quick healing.

Nats56, the expert in your case should be your doctor. Did you get a paper showing the steps of instructions for you to follow during your recovery?

Did you think to ask for a list of steps or when sex could resume at you appointment with the PA?

Btw, other than the AMS model, you & I are very similar. Did you research your drs implant qualifications? His aftercare should of showed up in the reviews.

Gt1956, there's only one urology center here where I live and because of my circumstances, traveling would place too great a burden on my wife. However, the doc I saw had good reviews so I felt reasonably confident he was at least adequate.

I did ask the PA about pumping since the only stipulations my doc gave me was no heavy lifting, get plenty of rest and no vardenafil. Nothing about pumping (or not) or when to resume sex as I mentioned before. Maybe I missed something. However, why would there be one set of instructions from some doctors and a completely different set from another? Just doesn't make sense to me. So, if I'm not experiencing any pain or difficulty pumping and there seems to be so many patients and doctors saying it's better to pump soon after the procedure, well, I would like to restore the length before it's too late since that is supposed to aid that.
