Intercourse - Pump versus Implant ?

Postby palace01 » Tue Mar 31, 2015 8:57 pm

I assume that many of you decided to have an implant after first trying all the other methods including the 'pump'.
After Prostate Surgery I found that the pills did nothing and erections with Injections were hard but not enough for penetration.
So I moved onto the Pump and for the first time in 12 months I was able to give my very patient and kind wife some loving that she so deserved.

We both realize that there are some drawbacks such as the pumping time, the discomfort of the rings, the large girth that affects both me getting it out of the tube, and her feelings, the 20 minute maximum, and the slightly different feeling from the natural way. However..
PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG - Right now, being able to get and hold a solid erection that allows us to love each other, is the GREATEST thing since sliced bread for both of us, and would happily satisfy both of us forever(from what I understand some people cannot even get that far)..

I just read so many happy stories from people that have had an implant that I wondered if some could share the difference(if any), comparing now versus using the Pump for Intercourse.

Thanks
Dave

IMO, there is little comparison in the two, other than the fact that you did obtain an erection and got to experience "being with" your wife, that is, of course a lot....but ring versus IPP. Please give the IPP serious thought. b

I have 2 osbon pumps which are considered to be the "best of the best" when it comes to VED's. They are (were) absolutely terrible. I hated them and plan on selling both of them now since I'll never need them again. I will add though, that the only thing they were good for was pre op pumping to maintain and/or increase my size. After my operation, my doctor told me that I gained some extra size due to the pumping. So if anything, that helped.

Although so far i love my implant Dave, if the pumps are working for you and both you and your wife are happy then keep pumping. Why go through the hassle of getting an implant? They should always be considered a last option.

palace01, are you getting the bruising and discoloration while pumping? I also have tried the pumps and realized they were doing more harm than helping.

We tried the pump, but my wife hated it so much she refused to participate after the first attempt. I didn't like it either - for us it was worse than nothing.

I had a Pos-T-Vac vacuum pump and used a very tight constrictor band prior to implantation and it worked reasonably well. I was able to achieve a nice firm erection but unable to maintain it for more than a couple of minutes. The constrictor band reduced my sensitivity but I was reasonably happy because I was able to make love for the first time in over a year & satisfy my lover. By the way, I purchased a large cylinder and it easily accommodated by 6" girth.

I received a Coloplast Titan implant in March 2014 and after a couple of months I was able to achieve and maintain a very nice erection as long as I want. I lost a little bit of length & girth but I have absolutely no regrets. There really is no comparison! I wish I had had the operation sooner.

Go implant!

The pump and related rings, just no comparison really. The implant essentially gives you a fully functioning 'natural' penis.

You can have normal intercourse and reach orgasm.

No time limits, no painful rings.

Trust me, night and day!

just do it.

THANKS Guys...
Mixed bag of replies, with as I expected - 'most' people who have had the implant feeling glad that they did..

Using the two Osbon rings at the same time, and putting them on exactly as recommended(with the two little tabs on top), I can indeed maintain an erection AND most times have an orgasm.
If that was the only option I believe I could certainly live with it. It's just that it doesn't quite feel like it did before the surgery generated ED, I am limited in time with rings on, but most of all -- We usually start with foreplay, then my pleasuring her manually, then a long mood-breaking wait while I pump up (it kinda freaks her out to see me either putting on the rings or taking them off..)
I assume pumping up the implant is faster and less freaky?

Cheers

Pills still work for me but...... we use the pump too. I know I can go long enough to satisfy her when using it.

I set up my stuff in a another room and make a quick exit to pump. Also a foam sleeve makes a HUGE difference in comfort and usability.

For over four years I tried Levita, Cialis, Viagra, Bimix, Trimix and the Vacuum pump. The only thing that worked at all was the Trimix. But it caused a lot of pain so it was still useless for me.

Jan 2015 I had a Titan implanted. There was a lot of pain and a LOT of swelling. But it was worth it.
I have not lost any sensation. My girth is larger. My length is only 1/4" shorter.
I am above average length so I am sure that 1/4" won't be missed.

I would do it over again and I would have done it sooner had it not been for insurance issues.
Total ED since a 6/2010 RPA. Pills and injections didn't work. 2nd revision with a Coloplast Titan (24CM w & 2CM RTEs)on 12/15/2022. 68 years old
