Newbie with lots of questions

Postby truckeic » Tue Apr 03, 2018 9:42 am

Ok so I am 52 diabetic and having ED for a yr or so now. tried the pills and they stopped working so did go to uro and get Trimix. My in office injection was last Tues and then had to go to work. I guess i expected a serious woody for and hour or so but that did not happen. Doc said it probably would not happen if i was anxious etc.. I guess i thought this stuff was foolproof so to speak.
been doing lots of reading here and there about needle length and where to inject and Auto injectors.
So i got the trimix filled and had it a week before i went in to the uro, they gave me no needles. I went into Walgreens and bought 29G 1/2" insulin needles then read that 31G 5/16 would be better.
That is what I took to the uro and he said was fine but i am reading here you guys are saying 1/2 is is better, could that be my issue with my test shot or would 5/16 be good. Doc is starting me off at 20 units which seems like a lot to me since i am reading guys doing .05 ml.
I also bought a Auto Inject EL since i am a bigger guy and dont think i can do the injection 2 handed. Any issues with using this thing any tips you guys can give me?

thanks

The G is how fat the needle is. The lower the number the BIGGER the needle. You had a 29 which is pretty small, the 31 is even smaller. My opinion would be that the thickness of the needle might affect long term scarring but should have no effect on success. As for the length, I used 1/2 as well and it was fine. There were other reasons the needles didn't work for me. :)

I really don't know.. I was making the shit up as I went along. That was the needles the pharmacist gave me. That doctor gave me no instructions at all, which is one reason I got another doctor. Although my dick length is not great at all, I like my girth and with the LGX, it should get even thicker. :)

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Nothing I post should be construed as medical advice. Always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Needles are largely a personal preference. However, certain issues dictate certain sizes. Method of injection, volume of meds, and anatomy for instance.

I don't use an auto injector but this is the information I've gleaned based on posts I've read from other posters that do: If you're going to use an auto injector you will need 29G 1/2" long needles. You control needle insertion depth with adjustments to the auto injector and the 5/16" needles aren't long enough for that. You will probably want to adjust the auto injector so that most but not quite all of the needle gets fired into your dick. Expect a learning curve. Needles of a finer gauge than 29G have been reported to bend, either on the main shaft of the needle or almost microscopically at the tip. This causes the needle to glance off of the tunica or to possibly cause more trauma.

I don't use an auto injector and at least for now use 8 to 10 units of meds. I much prefer 31G, 5/16" needles with a syringe volume of .3ml/cc. The 5/16 isn't actually long enough so I actually indent my flesh with the plastic nipple of the syringe when injecting. With the 1/2" needles I won't quite insert the entire length of the needle. The low volume syringes produce less plunger resistance and allow more tactile feel to help determine when in the correct spot.

Needle brands matter too. I've been using cheaper "Easy Touch" brand which I've been very happy with. I've also used "Sure Comfort" with success. Just recently I've used "Publix" store brand and they seem good too. I have no idea who makes the Publix brand but I'm sure it's probably one of those I've already mentioned. If I had to guess I'd say they're "Sure Comfort". I also just tried a bag of the more expensive "BD" brand syringes. I'm glad I only got 10 of them as I'll be pitching the rest of them. They seem to have much more plunger resistance. I'll be using the "Easy Touch" when I order bulk online and "Publix" for small batches, at least until Publix gets a better deal and changes suppliers.

"This is my experience:
Length wise, I inject anywhere from about an inch from the base to 1/2" to 3/4" from the glans. I actually find that too close to the base is more painful than too close to the glans. The depth of injection will have to varied depending on where. I always use plunger resistance to determine depth.

I will generally do the 3 - 9 or 2 - 10 with the 2 - 10 being the most common. I have experimented with 4- 8 and it worked just fine too, although it seemed more difficult to get the correct angle, coordination wise. When looking at a cross sectional diagram of the penis, it seems to me that any of those placements should work if you have the needle angled at the right spot. However, for me angling the needle up, when doing a 4 -8, isn't intuitive.

I hope that helps."

"I'd probably avoid 11:00. I find 9-10 and 2-3 best. The depth of needle insertion is dependent on needle length, your anatomy and where you inject. Pressing the needle all of the way in may work for some in some situations but isn't a guaranteed formula.

If using .5" needles I never insert the whole needle. If using the 5/16 needles I insert all of the needle and some. The exact depth will depend on injection location as I try to move around.

In addition to using the 9-10 / 2-3 location I've found plunger resistance to be the best indicator of proper needle depth. If you feel you're at the correct depth press gently on the plunger. If it goes in easily you're probably at the correct location. If you get more than gentle resistance you're probably not in the correct spot. With me, if I feel I should be in the correct spot but I'm getting a little more resistance than I think I should, I'll try withdrawing the plunger gently with one finger. If I withdraw it a smidge but when release my finger pulling back the plunger it rebounds to it's previous position, I'm unquestionably in the wrong spot. I'll then try a little deeper or a little shallower until I find the depth with very little resistance when pressing the plunger and if I withdraw the plunger a smidge it doesn't rebound. Some guys like to aspirate and see a little blood in the syringe. I don't do that but I guess that's almost what I'm doing when I do the plunger withdraw test. 90% of the time I don't do the plunger withdraw test as the first test depressing the plunger resolves the question."
------------------------------------------------------------

Keep some regular non-time release Pseudoephedrine HCL on hand for boners that last longer than desired. This is the stuff you have to ask for that they keep behind the pharmacy counter.

I hope that was useful. Good luck but do expect a learning curve. Enjoy the experimentation process.

What brand strength Pseudoephedrine HCL do you get?
how much more pain with a 29g 1/2 then 31g needle?

I'm sorry but I don't have good answers to those questions.

I was just speaking with my compounding pharmacist a few days ago and I specifically remember him mentioning what strength Pseudoephedrine to get but I didn't make note of it as it hasn't been a big issue for me. I generally get whatever brand and volume is the best deal, which is generally the Walgreens brand and at 30mg. I get generally unrelated sinus issues and usually take it for that. However, if I use my generic viagra I'll take some afterwards due to viagra related nasal stuffiness. My compounding pharmacy also sells an injectionable antidote available by prescription but I've never bought it or even asked for a script.

For me there is certainly a noticeable difference in sensation between a 29G and a 31G. However, I think you'll adapt and do fine with either.

Sorry I missed this before.

The volume of the meds injected will vary based on several things:

1) Your sensitivity to the meds.

2) The strength of the mix.

3) The actual meds used in the mix.

4) The age of the mix.

5) And yes the situation and stimulation will play a roll.

Frequently, if not usually there will be trial and error with you and the doctor as you work out what formula and volume works best for you. I used to use a full ML of Edex brand alprostadil as that's how it's dispensed. I now use a compounded version of alprostadil that's at least 4 time as strong allowing me to use considerably less volume. When your dose is finally worked out you can ask that the potency be increased so that you can reduce the volume injected. Twice as potent of a mix should result in 1/2 as much volume used. In other words, the same amount of drugs dissolved into half as much water should result in about half as much volume injected. At least it seems that way to my feeble mind.

how much are you giving for your dose? I paid $105 for 2 viles not sure how much is in each though. I guess i need to see what strength mine is? Guess i am kinda worried that theis is not going to work and then i am screwed...
