Erections were fantastic, but more often than not lasted too long , like you , often 3 to 4 hours before abating.

The solution for me , my urologist advised this, was to do jumping jacks and/or run up and down the stairs a few times , to drain the blood away from the penis.

This worked for me.
3 hours plus and its a definite source of discomfort.

I worked out hard last night doing lunges, squats, and jumping jacks for half an hour straight outside in the cold until I was breathing hard and my heart was pounding. This slightly helped making me go from a full erection to a semi erection that faded over the next half an hour.

I think I cut it pretty close and was about to bite the bullet and go to the ER. It was still a little swollen but bendable after 4 hours and was back to normal flaccid state at 4.5. I hope it didn't do any damage, but even if I had gone in to the ER at 4 hours it would have been flaccid before the doctor saw me.

I see you just got your implant, how do you like it? Do you think the injections did any damage, or did they just stop working for you as your VL progressed?

I added some links for priapism to the Documents and etc. Worth Reading List. The links can be found under the Disease section: http://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9266&p=73351#p73351

I'd read a previous article that was a bit less scary on the time frame but I'm currently unable to locate it. I thought I'd posted in a previous thread but who knows.

I've had a number of erections that lasted a good 4 hours. I was taking pseudoephedrine by then. My compounding pharmacy does offer an injectable antidote with prescription but I've never gotten it.

The time frame is scary because you can go from fun to irreversible damage in a very short amount of time. In one of the articles you linked it recommends commencing treatment at 4 hours, but waiting in the ER and finding a doctor that knows what to do can take several hours at least.

Did you have any ill effects from the 4 hour erections? When they did go down, was it very gradual?

Based on conversations I had with my urologist since the very early days of my Trimix usage way back in 2010, it is my understanding that as long as tumescence/deflation is under way, the length of time it takes to reach 100% limp is less important. I think the urgency of intervention is increased exponentially if there has been NO deflation after 4 hours.

Still, I understand and do share the concerns expressed here about prolonged erections. I've learned some techniques that work for me that do not include Sudafed:

Warm wet towel. (Ice pack causes blood NOT to flow. We want it to flow---OUT.)
Empty your bladder as soon as possible. Turn on the faucet and stand there until it happens.
Walking. (Sitting or lying on the internal penis with raging erection tends to constrict blood flow, thereby slowing deflation.)
Reading something silly, boring, distracting, or technical.

Walk around the house with the offending member wrapped in a warm, wet, towel while reading Tales from the Crypt.

All the best,

Thanks for the info. As for the ice packs, I think you are supposed to apply them to large muscle groups like the thighs, this causes blood to flow to that area theoretically diverting it away from the penis. When people go into hypothermia the body directs blood flow towards the organs away from

That being said, the ice packs seem to have minimal effect. I think the heavy exercise is the only thing that helped me, but I do wonder if anaerobic exercise is counterproductive as it decreases your oxygen levels.

A while back I asked my Urologist about prolonged erections and how long was problematic (stating at the time that I had a semi erection up to 3.5 hours). He stated that it's getting into the danger zone and after about 4 hours it can show signs of tissue death. What your doctor said seems to make sense, though. I was 3.5 hours before it started deflating over the next 45 minutes or so. Too close for comfort for me.

I have been freezing and unfreezing my trimix for months, I wonder if that has caused inconsistent results and a stronger mix at the bottom?

OK, I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post here is just my own experiences and should never be considered advice. Ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Something I've done with prolonged erections that would probably be very bad advice, so it's not advice: With a prolonged erection, while standing, I've wrapped my hand around my dick and squeezed firmly, but not hard. I do this while consciously relaxing the muscles in my pelvic region. This relaxing is difficult but possible and necessary. Without doing this, squeezing your dick won't do any good and likely will cause harm, if it isn't already. By doing this I've been able to partially deflate my dick, which will subsequently reinflate, especially if I sit. I'll do this several times until dick decides to behave and start to return to flaccid. I figure that by doing this I'm at least causing an exchange of blood in the dick and reintroducing some oxygen. This may well be a very bad procedure and lead to a venous leak. I don't know. I know the injections still work for me. I haven't done this routine a whole bunch of times as I've managed to get the dose worked out for pretty much optimal erection time.

I significantly reduced dose and erection last a bit less time, but it's tricky, as it lasts comletely different times with same dose :(.
Also, sometimes my penis loses sensitivity and it makes difficult to orgasm, again with same dose sometimes I have problem and sometimes not :(

Same with me. I'm wondering if the differences with the same dose are due to injection technique or the mix not being homogeneous i.e. it's more concentrated at the bottom and less concentrated at the top.

I'm going to request they send me the anecdote when I order a new mix. Hopefully they will and I won't ever have to use it, but if I'm still rock hard at 3-3.5 hours I can give it a shot before going to the ER.

I'm guessing you guys are having inconsistent results due to injection technique.

Curious how can you know if it did some damage?

Also, lately , I started to take Trazodone (last pill I took 20 hours before injection) and L-Citrulline. Can be a resaon that my erections are longer even with smaller dose?
