Carrying injections on long haul flight

Postby spooon » Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:23 pm

Hi All

What steps do you take to carry injections on long hail flights. The two obvious issues are the possibility of being stopped at baggage security for having needles in luggage (i suppose i am better off putting in the check-in luggage) and second how to keep the injections cold.

Thanks

I have traveled on long flights with Trimix with no problems. One easy solution is to buy a 16-ounce thermos, put the Trimix in it to stay cold and take it through security. The first time I tried it I asked TSA about it and they said no problem. Sure enough, my thermos with the ice and trimix inside went through the xray without a hitch.

Once you're aboard the plane just have the flight attendant top off your thermos with ice a time or two. If you're changing planes get a cup of ice at one of the fast food places and top off the thermos again. This process is enough to get you to your destination.

Another optio is the Frio, which I also have. It's met to keep insulin cold and also works for Trimix. http://www.frioinsulincoolingcase.com/

I have used the Frio many, many times with no problems. The Frio is really just a pouch with a small pocket to fit the trimix. You remove the pocket and soak it in water to activate some crystals that will keep the Trimix at an acceptable temperature for more than a day. The only problem with the Frio is that the Trimix won't seem cold to the touch of your fingers the way it would if you had it soaked in ice. However, I used the Frio once on a trip that lasted more than a week with no problems.

My favorite solution of the two is the thermos, however.

Let us know what you decide. You can't go wrong either way. Also, your needles will be fine onboard as well. Good luck!
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

I, too, have had good performance from the Frio on week-long trips.

No problems with TSA on either domestic or international flights. Just to be sure, I have a plastic-covered copy of my prescription attached to the outside of my Frio pack.

If you think about it, TSA sees thousands of passengers — diabetics and others — who travel with injectable meds and/or meds that need cooling.

In my experience, Trimix remains 99% effective up to 24 hours or above unrefridgerated. I not only take Trimix, but I also take insulin syringes on flights. Best if you have a prescription or doctors letter available to show inspectors. However, I have never been questioned.

I have used trimix that has not been refrigerated for an extended period. I find that trimix kept at room temperature for a week has no noticeable loss of effectiveness. After 2 weeks there is a slight loss of effectiveness, but by upping the dose by 10 to 20%, it's as good as ever.

I have never had any problem with airport security and I travel a lot. It is not what they are looking for.

I bought a Medi-cool case, that is intended for insulin. You freeze the cool pack and put it in carrying case with trimix. Mine has a compartment for wipes and syringes. I put case in carry-on luggage. I have travelled on 10 hour flights and trimix was still cold when I got to hotel.
We are planning long trip to Europe this Summer and staying in sever cities. I might try thermos for short hops as I will not have access to a freezer, only mini-fridge.

For flights to Carribean or Mexico (total travel with transfer less than 5-6 hours), I'm using Plastic Portable Plastic Cooler similar to

I put inside a couple of elements and 5-6 ice cubes and it keeps cold pretty well. I just place it into checked in luggage....
Soon, I'll need to keep my solution cold for longer time + 2 hours transfer to resort, so I bought also

Planning to put my solution to this thermos with ice cubes and than to Portable cooler with elements... Will do testing next week for how long ice won't melt :)

Recently got back from holiday. Reckon i must have left the medication out of the fridge for a total of 2 weeks if not more. Injected today and still got a 2 hour erection. I guess the one assurance i need is that while clearly still effective is it still safe?

This is a bit of a moment for me, because one thing i really miss compared to viagra, is that while dating women, not being 'ready' when we arrive home and instead stressing over having to take 5 min out every time in a bathroom etc. Now i could in theory carry the injections with me and inject shortly before leaving, say just after paying the bill for dinner at a restaurant :D knowing i'll still be good to go when we get home. Hmmm will have to try this one day.

I often do that. I see this girl once a week late at night, so before I leave my house I inject and just untuck my shirt to cover up my boner. From the I jectionits about an hour to sex and I’m horny as hell the whole time. The erection last about 3 hours all together so we have time for a 2 hour “fuckathon” lol.
All the best!

I'd feel a bit uncomfortable having to hide a raging boner the moment we meet. With Viagra there would be ebb and flow of blood, with an injection it's unrelenting. I suppose a blazer and pleated trousers might also do the trick :D
