2nd Uro visit

Postby newbie443 » Thu Jan 04, 2018 4:55 pm

Well I gathered up my notes and information on different tri-mix formulas and went in a month early. So I had everything ready to do all that I could to get the right formula for me. Doc said that if I did not get a usable erection from a full 1ml syringe of my Tri-mix 2 22.5/.05/.0083 I was wasting my time with injections. Said I needed surgery.

Now I was thrown for a major loop but managed to get him to increase the strength and send a script to a pharmacy that lets me use a one piece syringe. Maybe that was the plan but he really looked like he felt I was wasting my time and money. Told me to come back in 2 months and he would go over implant devices with me.

Thoughts? Questions? I'm really overwhelmed right now.
Injections failed. Implanted 3-21-18 AMS 700 LGX 21 + 1 RTE 100 cc reservoir 6.5" L 5" G Dr. Kramer.

There is a big part of me that was doing a happy dance. Then I start working it through my head. I read that it is only 90% successful. My ED is only known by my doc's and me. I am single. My family members do not keep secrets. Not ever. So how to keep it private in case I'm the one out of ten. Money I do not see as a problem as I look at that as just buying a new car. And hope it's not a lemon. I am talking to women on line. Have dated a few. Should I ask all them what they would think of a bionic boyfriend? Then time to completion is maybe 3 months on the inside. I was really wanting to have the injections where I could have some fun this month. Part of me really wants the new stronger tri-mix to work. But I don't think my uro will order a greatly stronger mix. Man all the things that just keep popping into my head.

I just need a place to talk about it and work through it all.

I think the doc might have been pushing you to pad his wallet.
You may or may not get a useable erection with the first couple formulas, but why not try more to be sure?
My doc suggested an implant the first time I walked in the door.
If you get no response with the increased dosage, maybe it would be time to think about an implant
Just my $.02.

Zactally! Why make tri mix, super tri mix, quad mix and super quad mix if light tri mix did the job. I told him that it helped and the increased dosage increased help just not enough. That is my worst fear.

I think I'd start looking for a new uro and I wonder about his motivations.

Well my only option would be to pay out of pocket and go somewhere else out of the area. I just don't have a lot of options and they know it. I doubt he is doing this on his own. The uro group has to have given him the go ahead on this activity.

You could gather up all of your research again and take it to your GP. Educate him/her if necessary and explain to him/her the situation and that you are concerned that you may be being rushed into an elective surgery. Explain that you'd prefer to fully explore the other less intrusive options before you make that leap and ask if he/she would help you explore those options. I get my prescriptions from my GP and didn't have any difficulty but doctors vary a lot so YMMV.

I may end up with an implant someday but I'm in no hurry. As long as injections work I'm very satisfied. I use a fairly potent dose of alprostadil. I didn't have ED prior to my RP but I obviously had nerve damage from the surgery because except for injections I have a totally dead dick.

It's obviously your decision, but if you were my thirty-something son (not sure how old you are), I'd advise you not to give up on injections yet. It took me more than a year to figure out injections and it was frustrating much of the time. But I kept working with my urologist and we finally got it figured out. Actually, I figured it out by hanging out here in Frank Talk and going back to the uro multiple times with suggestions.

I think that's where you are right now. In your case you seem to have a uro who simply wants to move you along to an implant. It's always been my feeling that an invasive, elective surgery should always be a last resort.

An implant can also be risky if you are without insurance as you seem to suggest. Implants are a five-figure hit on the wallet, and there is the chance of additional surgery down the road if a revision is necessary.

Look, I'm 61 and I would love to have an implant. The ease of use of an implant beats injections any day, especially for a single man like you. Still, in your case I would advise waiting until you are convinced that injections won't work -- and after you have good health insurance.

Just my two cents.

P.S. Get another uro.
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

My gp is like the mad hatter and spends as little time as possible and cuts me off (but then it's been said I take the long way around the barn to get there) so my chances of educating him are pretty slim. If I make an appointment and say I want this he usually says ok and runs off to the next office call$$.

I have very little response with out something added like tri-mix or Viagra. Problem I have is with firmness.
