ER visit for drug induced priapism

Postby Dezmond » Thu Dec 28, 2017 11:10 am

First time Trimix 30/1/25 injected 10 u ( 0.1ml) ended up in ER. Had penis drained and irrigated. My questions are for those who have experienced the same. How long did you wait to attempt 2nd injection and how much did you inject the second time (ie 20%, 25%, 50%) of the original dose. Background: 46 Married (happily) Have history if low T ( currently on injections). ED has been an issue for the past 2 years. Mainly keeping erectios and performance anxiety

which of those numbers is PGE1 ? Some guys with nerves intact get decent hard with 4 units of standard trimix. Did you use Sedafed at 2 hrs? Then ice at 3 hrs. That is what I did on my first injection. URO gave me 30 units on first dose. BUT, I have no nerves at all.

Call your doctor!

I'm not a medical professional of any kind and nothing I post should be construed as medical advice. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

IMHO, you might ask for a less potent starter mix. The 25 mcg of PGE1 might be too much for you. You might want to ask about a 30/1/10 mix. Even with the .3ml syringes administering less than 5 units can get a bit problematic. But if you want to try it I'd definitely use the .3ml syringe and go for about 3 units to start. I have no idea how long you should wait after your priapism incident. Make sure you have pseudoephedrine on hand.

That said, you really need to consult your doctor on this. A priapism necessitating an E.R. visit is serious stuff. You don't want your dick rotting off. Call your doctor. When you talk to the doctor also ask about a script for the antidote.

I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your opening sentence. I know it's obvious but it protects you and us and costs nothing. Thank you. :)

Thanks gentlemen for your response. I am not looking for medical advise only experiences that others have had under these circumstances. I work with doctors every day and I know that if you ask 3 different docs the same question, it’s not uncommon to get three different answers. I should have said that I was prescribed the trimix by my PCP, thankfully saw a Urologist in the ER and subsequently followed up with him at his office 7 days later. His suggestion was to stay away from all ED meds ( both oral and injectables) for a month with a caveat that he has to recommend the most conservative approach. My problem is my wife is having surgery in a month and will be out of commission for another 6-8 weeks. I was just really interested in other people’s experiences after similar circumstances to decide if I wanted to risk injections for a week or two prior to my wife’s procedure
Also just wanted to say that I’ve been reading this forum and appreciate that it exists and is run so well. Thanks again

Good luck, and I pray you get it figured out. I can certainly understand your desire to hurry things along given your situation. I've never had a priapism that required an E.R. visit so I don't have any directly related experience to share. Too bad your doctor couldn't at least give you a hint as to what shorter time frame wouldn't be crazy risky even though outside accepted norms.

My first experience was at 30/1/25 and 30 units. I was back in my doctor's office 7 hours later with a rock solid erection even after 2 shots of the "antidote". Fortunately, after the 3rd dose, it relaxed. I've been to him a couple more times and found my mix to be 17 (PAP) / 0.6 (Phen) / 6 (Alp). I use .02 (yes, 2 units!) of the mix, and I get a good 45 minutes at 95%. It's not the super hard as before, but if I relax after that 45 minutes, I usually get a 2nd erection at the same 95% - enough for another go. The best part is, if I DON'T want a 2nd go, I can simply get up and exert myself a little, or wear some loose fitting pants and the erection is usually gone in 15-20 mins. If I want a marathon session, I can go to 3 or 4 units, but have no desire to go higher. I do have quite a few live nerve endings, and get morning wood once in a great while. You might consider starting small and working up like I did rather than taking the chance of another ER visit. Good Luck!

Dear Friend,

My doctor gave me 25 units of 40/30/2 Trimix which now I know was very irresponsible. He had to drain my penis after 4 hours. My dose ended up being 4 units and still have 4 hour erections all the time although not painful at all and using 2-3 hours of it for vigorous sex before ejaculation.

If I remember well I injected myself a couple of days later with 10 units and slowly reduced it to 4.

My recommendation to you is practice by yourself a few times starting with 3-4 units and go up by 1 each time.

All the best!

Thanks for sharing bldoink/ filmsmith/ and newtoed. Very exiting and helpful information. It seems that I may have similar circumstnces and trimix needs. I think what I will do is dilute the 30/1/25 mixture by half and then try 3u or .03ml next injection and dice it’s been 9 days since ER visit I may take the risk tomorrow with antidotes around just in case. May try to dilute to 25% prescribed dose first. Quick question. If the smaller dose does nothing, how long do you give it before adding a couple more units. And if second try does nothing do you try another unit or two in a third injection. Can’t wait to find that sweet spot hopefully sooner than later. Just want to attack it from bottom up. Lol

I've been injecting successfully since the fall of 2010. Perhaps my experience may give you some information to consider.

My formula from the beginning has been as follows:
Alprostadil/Prostaglandin: 20 mcg
Papaverine: 30 mg
Phentolamine: 1.0 mg

My first injection of 30 units was done by the urologist in his office. Let's just say it was quite successful. I figured out right away that I needed to bring down the dosage. I went to 15, then 10, then 5, and a slow as 2 units. I figured out that my "Goldilocks" dose was about 5 units. Since then, I've gradually increased that up to 10 units to give me the kind of erection I want that lasts as long as I want it.

Now, we all know that a man's penis has a mind of its own, so sometimes Little G is slow to deflate. So I've learned all the simple techniques to get it done: pacing, warm washcloth, reading, etc. I have always had Sudafed handy but have only needed to use it once or twice. I have never had to go to the ER.

Of all the training tips from my urologist, once comes to mind given your questions: Never give yourself a second shot if the first one misses the mark or, for some reason, does not work. Or if you want to go for a second (or third) round. Wait at least 24 hours.

Finally, I must second what has been said already. What we post here is simply sharing our experiences. Always, always ask your doctor and then do what he or she suggests. Hope this helps.
