Hello from a newbie!

Hey all. I went to a Urologist for the first time ever over 2 weeks ago. He said I should try injections. Handed me a sheet of paper with instructions on how to inject. Said it was easy. Said it cost less than pills. Trimix label said to start with .1 dose and increase .05 per dose if results are not achieved. Up tp 1.0 max. I am up to .35 and not a lot going on other than pain and bleeding. Is this the normal course of things with injections? This is the premier Urology group in my area. So I guess I have no other place to go. I would welcome any help.

I'm not a medical professional of any kind and I'm just sharing my personal layman experiences. Always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

newbie443,

Welcome to the forum. You can hopefully learn from the experiences of others and save some of the difficulty of learning by yourself.

Your doctor sounds much like my first uro. He's a good guy and has now retired from active practice and teaches at a school somewhere. However, by your description, like yours, he didn't serve me well in teaching me the injection technique. Like yours, mine gave me a script (for Edex) and told me to read the instructions. That's bullshit! I really liked him but he failed me there! OK, rant over.

newbie, please read as many of the threads in the "Injections" sub-forum as you can tolerate. There's a lot of good information there from a lot of members with years of injection experience.

Please also watch at least a few injection videos. They can be found on YouTube. This is my feeble attempt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KocDkt ... e=youtu.be

or others:

Try and educate yourself a bit and then start asking questions on this forum.

From your brief description it's my assumption that you aren't doing the injections correctly. Blood should be very minimal if there's any at all. I almost never have blood. Although some get pain from the medication, the pain from the actual injection process should really be very minimal.

You'll get this figured out and be in happy boner town soon.

Hey Newbie!

Welcome to the dick pricker's club! Hang in there. You will figure it out. Just stay patient. The big key is to practice, practice, practice. While you're learning inject 3-4 times a week and keep notes. The more you practice, the quicker you'll get results. It's very helpful to practice when you are by yourself so that you don't feel the pressure of having to perform.

As bldoink said, you should not be seeing much bleeding. Some pain is normal when you are first starting out but eventually won't be noticeable as you continue to practice.

You may have to experiment for a while with the formula and dosage. So you are up to 35 units? I was once at 125 units. Trimix affects everybody differently. If your doctor advised you to keep increasing the number of units until you achieve an erection, then that is what you should do. If that doesn't work you'll need a stronger formula.

Remember, practice, practice, practice and don't give up.

Here are some links to more videos. Some of the links may be broken, but most work. Good luck and stay in touch!

My biggest fear is that I'm not injecting properly. And I keep increasing my dose for lack of results. Then one of these days I will get it right by accident and be in trouble. I am starting to date again but I have this hanging over me kind of like a black cloud. A 2 hour erection would do a lot for my confidence. I'll hang in there and keep trying. I'll be out of syringes soon and need to call in for those. They just gave me 10. Thanks for the advice and I have read some. I just keep having pain inserting the needle and injecting the mix. The pain seems to last for an hour or more. And I can't seem to find a place that does not bleed. I have injected insulin in the past without any trouble like this. I am in control of my diabetes now with just oral meds and diet and exercise.

syringes are cheap at Walmart. What is the dosage on your trimix. What syringe are you using? Are you injecting at 2 and 10 , 1 inch up from base? Are you getting through the tunica? Where is the bleeding? injection site or urethra?

My syringes are marked .1, .2,....to 1.0. I started with the .1 and increased .05 each injection and am now at.35. The package says those are ML's. The needle is 27 gauge by 1/2 inch. When I use up the 5 ml bottle of trimix if I have not had proper results I will still need to call for more to reach the max of 1.0 ML in a single injection.

Trimix 2 22.5/0.5/0.0083. The syringes are BD 1ml described above. I have a lot of veins at 10 and 2 1" up. I tried with bleeding. I seem to see less veins at 3-4 and 8-9. But still have bleeding. Some of the problem may be me not being able to apply pressure to the site as stuff keeps moving around when I do. I don't know about the tunica or if I am or not or even going through and past it. The bleeding is at the site. Most of the time it is on my alcohol wipe, others a dark bruise under the skin.

The pain is at the site from the needle and from the injected solution. I injected this morning and I still feel pain. Doc said the injection would not produce desired results without stimulation. There is a small amount of results with stimulation but nothing even mildly close to acceptable. Sometimes 45 minutes to an hour latter I will feel some swelling but when I apply stimulation it goes away. Might be the increased pain I feel with stimulation.

I'll go back to the 10 and 2 and work on it and see if I can find a way.
