Is 10 MCG of caverject enough?

Postby caninoespacial » Mon Oct 09, 2017 1:29 pm

Hey everyone, I will be starting my trials with the injections next week, but already been searching for prices and caverject is crazy expensive for me. The 10 MCG version might be enough, but I don't know. I have 21 years and nothing detecded yet. Is 10 MCG enough for just one intercourse? it's really expensive in my country.

This is not medical advice as I'm not a doctor, or any kind of health professional for that matter. Consult your doctor.

Is it enough? Well, you won't know until you try it. It might even be way too much. Make sure you have Pseudoephedrine on hand before first use. But yes, Edex and I believe the Caverject are both intended for one time use, as in one sexual event and it's then discarded.

The cost of the name brand stuff (Edex, in my case) is what caused me to switch to the compounded version. If that is available to you that would be something to strongly consider. It's a small fraction of the cost for essentially the same stuff.

Cost wise, how does the 10mcg compare to the 20s or 40s, if available? I'm sure it's not an approved use but with the stronger Edex (Caverject's competition) I have mixed it in the syringe as directed and then, before injecting, squirted the excess into a diabetic syringe, froze it and used it the next time. If the cost factor works for that and you can get the syringes, well it's something I have done. However, I'm not suggesting you try it. I'm sure there are some very good reasons not to do it.

I do recall someone else was using Muse suppositories and turning them into injectionable fluid and getting much more bang for the buck. That would really be an off label use and I'm not suggesting you try it.

Good luck

My biggest concern comes from the fact that some guys here are using 30 mcg, I would go bankrupt with 30 mcg. I am calling compounding pharmacies here to see I what I get.

bldoink is right. I don't know if you have Shoppers Drugs where you are, but here, Shoppers has their own brand "Life Brand", and it is almost half the price for the same thing... i.e.; Advil vs Ibuprophen, Aspirin vs ASA, etc. Prescription drugs also come in brand name vs no name brands. Look around, ask the pharmacists. If that doesn't work, try telling the doctor that you simply can't afford what he has prescribed and ask if there is something else. Good luck
