Still need help

Postby Lonehill » Thu Jun 01, 2017 6:38 pm

The following was an earlier appeal for advice but nothing to date.
I started with bimix and then a low dose trimix and now completed trying up to 1 ml (100 units) of the following:
PGE1- 44
Phentolamine - .55
Paparervine - 16
All of the above have been ineffective and only producing about a 50% erection which is useless (slightly better than limp) My urologist acknowledges that he's not real familiar with injections to suggest the next step so he and the compound pharmacist that I use have agreed to let me select a custom formula of my choosing.

WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND

After a couple dozen injections and almost $400 in meds plus the 150 mile round trips to the pharmacist I 'm really frustrated ! Want something that will do the job . Please help !

Again, please offer your suggestions. Thanks.

The phentolamine seems too low. It should be at least 1, but more like 2 in your case. I highly suggest you getting a Autoject. It's painless and accurate.
Also squeeze the base of your penis after injection, so the medicine stays longer. If stronger Trimix doesn't work you can still try Quadmix.
All the best.

Don't get frustrated -- keep working at it. My situation was the exact same as yours when I started two years ago. At one point I was taking 125 units on a weak formula.

Here is my current script:

Prostaglandin E1 80 mcg/ml
Papervine HCI 30 mg/ml
Phentolamine Mesylate 2 mg/ml

That's a pretty strong formula but now I'm down from 125 units to as little as 20 units depending on how long I want the erection to last. However, it took a year of trial and error to reach this point.

Here are some "standard" TriMix prescriptions I have seen:

papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml / prostaglandin 10mcg/ml
papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml / prostaglandin 20mcg/ml
papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml / prostaglandin 30mcg/ml
papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml / prostaglandin 40mcg/ml
papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 2 mg/ml / prostaglandin 20mcg/ml

You received some good advice about touching base with a compounding agency. Call a few and ask what's the strongest "standard" formula they offer. Then go back to your doc.

Also, what state are you in? You shouldn't be driving 150 miles roundtrip to a pharmacist. Many compounding pharmacies will ship to you overnight. There are state laws restricting mail-order Trimix, so not every pharmacy may be able to ship to you. Two pharmacies you can Google and call are Talon Compounding Pharmacy in San Antonio and Wedgewood Compounding Pharmacy in New Jersey. Olympia Compounding Pharmacy, in Orlando, FL will custom blend some very strong formulas. However, Olympia is much more expensive than Talon or Wedgewood. Talon is super cheap at about $65 a vial.

Good luck and keep us posted. Stay with it!
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

To the OP:

The line in your post that says "My urologist acknowledges that he's not real familiar with injections" may be the most important part.

If the only trimix injections you've had are the office shot from that doctor and the ones you've given yourself, that would seem to mean that you've never had a trimix injection from someone who is "real familiar with injections."

Seriously, you might owe it to yourself to consider seeing another uro, or at least consider whether you are doing the injections correctly.

Thanks to all for the information. I will use your recommendations when creating my next trimix formula.
I honestly think the best advice is from people like you who have been there and went through all of the trial and error so that people like me can reap the benefit of your knowledge. I think there may be some good urologists out there but I think there are a lot of unique cases that don't fit into a normal solution and this site helps bridge that gap.

Thanks

Lonehill; why not consider the implant?

At this point I see an implant as a last resort. My urologist said he would advise against it because of potential complications. He has put in a request for a penis pump to see if medicare will pay for it. He as suggested using this in conjunction with the timix injections. But first things first - I want to continue to experiment with higher formulas of trimix first before I continue on to other options. I really feel that I 'm simply not using a strong enough formula so I plan to increase it substantially .

Wow! $400 in meds? Granted, I buy a 1cc bottle at a time, but it's only $38 each at my pharmacy. My mix is papaverine 30mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml / prostaglandin 10mcg/ml. I only use a 0.02 amount though. I agree with the others, keep trying different formulas. I had the opposite problem. My first injection (by the uro) was 0.3 units, and I was back in his office 5 hours later with an erection lasting nearly 7 hours. That was after he pumped me with a full dose of the "antodote".

Damn..that's amazing. Just to give everyone a feel of how miniscule that is>>>>2 DROPs is .10 ml (10 units), since 1Ml has 20 drops. So a dose of 2 units is about 1/2 drop!

I agree rahod1 .02 is like a "whiff" of medicine. I thought I was low dosing at .05 but I guess not. Wondering how you can even measure that amount.....just saying.
