I'm So Frustrated!!!

Well, first of all I want to express my gratitude for the amazing erections I get from Trimix. But they last too longing and too uncomfortable bordering pain.
My Formula is 40/30/2. Before anything less than 10 units didn't work. Last night 8 units worked beautifully, but I was rock hard for 6 hours after abut 1 hour of great sex and ejaculation.
That's way too long and painful. I can't sleep and next day I'm exhausted. I also took 60mg Sudafed and feeling the side effect of that.
I got some bacteriostatic steril water and will dilute the Trimix by 50% first and use 5 units only.
If it doesn't work I may just have to ask my urologist for less potent Trimix or even go with aprostadil or Bimix.
I'm frustrated, but optimistic that I'll find a solution and would appreciate your input.

Most Urologists start their patients on Trimix I which is (10/30/1) = (prostaglandin mcg, papaverine mg/ml / phentolamine 1 mg/ml ). Then you have Trimix II, III, & IV. So your Uro started you with Trimix IV. I think its obvious he needs to drop the formula to probably I or maybe II.

Trimix I (10/30/1)
Trimix II (20/30/1)
Trimix III (30/30/1)
Trimix IV (40/30/1)

Thank you. That's very valuable information. I'll try 5 units this weekend and if not working I'll call him next week.

Get new formula>>>20/30/1 and find dose for you. Having said this....you may still have to live with 3-4 erections.

Last night I injected 6 units first and barely anything happened. Then I gave myself 2 more units and boom, got my 5 hour slightly painful erection again. The discomfort was a little less maybe because I took 60mg Sudafed right after the injection not 2-3 hours after.
So again looks like I either get no response from low doses or too much from about 8 units. Have to realize that this formula of 40/30/2 is too strong for me and call my urologist for something less potent.

Try injecting at 1-2:00 and 10-11:00 instead of 3-9:00.

Today I tried my Trimix 40/30/2 formula at only 4 units using my Autoject El for the first time which is incredible by the way. Before I got almost no response from 5-6 units but this time it worked too good again. Looks like I'm gonna have an other 3-4 hour rock hard slightly painful erection which is too much at only 4 units.
I may have to go to Aprostadil or Bimix soon.
But I'll keep using my Autoject from now on for sure.
All the best.

Can't agree more that the Autoject EL is the only way to go. It is precise and controlled with same results every time.

I've posted this before on other threads, but want to agree with others - work with your uro to find the right formula / dosage. Rigidness/firmness is caused mainly by the PGE1 while duration is from the phentolamine. I am on a somewhat-unusual Bimix of those 2 (usually Bimix is Phentolamine / Papeverine). I, too was getting 5-6 hr painful erections. I went back to the uro and changed locations of the injections. Many sources say close to the base, but my doc suggested about 1 inch behind the glans at 1-130 / 1030-11 positions instead of 3/9. He also taught me to feel going through the tunica (the membrane surrounding the corpus) - there's a slight resistance as you pass through it that you can't necessarily feel using the autoject (which I also have tried.) I also started massaging the injection site sfter the injection for about 2 minutes - this helps distribute the medication - for me, this made a BIG difference, and I was able to reduce my dosage and get my erections to be way more comfortable and control it to be anywhere between 1 and 3 hours - perfect for my preferences.

I would suggest asking for a lower concentration of PGE1 in your mix. I am on a 20 /.5 ratio insted of 20/1 that is in most Trimixes, and I think you said your formula has 2mcg PGE1. Ask for 1mcg, try injecting at different locations (front/back and different clock positions). Go low dosages during trials and work up, especially when you add massage - I was quite surprised at the change - I was up to .40ml (40 units) and ended up dropping to .09 for an optimal 2.5 hr perfect erection (very hard, almost no pain). Even if your uro doesn't say so, I think most of us here will agree that It's ok to try once a day if you have the time - even if you don't have sex or don't feel like masturbating (although once I stopped having much pain, I felt like doing at least one of those.) If you haven't been able to be honest with your partner, try to work up the courage to do so - I was embarrassed to tell my wife that I wanted to masturbate when she wasn't in the mood - or do it in front of her. But she's recovering from back surgery and has pain herself, so there are times that she can't enjoy sex even if she wants it. But she's been very understanding, and sometimes will "help" - or at least encourage me a little.

Have Pseudoehedrine (original "real" Sudafed, now available only from behind the pharmacy counter but no prescription necessary) handy and use it early - if you're looking for a 3-hr erection, take it at 2:45 or 2:30. Use mild exercise and cold compresses. And next time, drop the dosage.

Bottom line which I think most members will agree with - adjust/experiment with dosage/location/technique - most of us ultimately find success. For me, it took about 30 attempts to find the "sweet spot." Hang in there!
