I'm a week off of Wellbutrin. Still no libido. But I am feeling more clear headed. No withdrawal symptom at all. I went to half a dose for 2 week, I think this helped out immensely.

Sliphill,

I recently started taking Vitamin B12... because mine was very low, and that resulted in me being forgetful, and somewhat depressed....

Google Vitamin B12 and you will see listed the cause of some of those maladies...

I am feeling much better now that I have been taking B12 for a couple weeks.

Perhaps you will be helped too.

Bill

I definitely have lathargy and fatigue. No matter how much I sleep. As a matter of fact, I work a second job two nights a week, which I am at right now. Some nights I'm so exhausted. So maybe I do have a vitamin b12 deficiency.

Wow, I just read that anti depressants and protein pump inhibitors can cause B12 deficiency. I stopped taking wellbutrin, but i am still taking prilosec. I stopped taking it for 3 days last week thinking that maybe this is causing loss of libido. But holy shit, I got heartburn so bad I couldn't take it anymore so I started taking prilosec again. I mean so bad I could eat a bottle of tums and it still didn't top the burn.

Anyways, I think I'll stop at Walmart tonight to get B12.

Some anti-depressants are in a class called SSRI's. I can offer a little experience with SSRI. Been treated for depression for many years. Two main SSRI's prescribed were mirtazapine (brand name Remeron) and paroxetine (brand name Paxil). In 2015, my psychiatrist suggested that given my stable condition for many years, and advancing age, that two SSRI's were no longer needed. Accordingly we weaned me off of the paroxetine starting in October 2015, and discontinued in February 2016. Continuing the mirtazapine indefinitely. I have had not psych problems without the paroxetine. An unexpected bonus 'side effect' for me is that my libido has rebounded tremendously this year. I have researched this, and do believe that discontinuing the paroxetine has 'freed up' my libido. This is the reason for renewed interest in addressing my E.D. and using the vacuum pump described in my signature. A nice bonus.

A word of caution: we 'tapered' my paroxetine over several months. Many people report physical problems if an SSRI is tapered too quickly, or even worse stopped cold turkey. In my case, the presence of the mirtazapine has also 'protected' me during the tapering.

SSRI's and SNRI's are both responsible for loss of libido and loss of orgasm in a very large number of patients taking them. I was one of them. It is an extremely common side effect of these antidepressants. Wellbutrin is supposed to not have these side effects and from my experience it is generally true but YMMV.

Because Tri Mix is a vasodilator, and acts directly on the smooth muscles of the the penile arteries, it is not effected by SSRI's and should produce a decent or very good erection, but that does not guarantee you good sexual experience. It is still possible to be anorgasmic despite having a raging hard penis. Been there, done that.

Any of the pills ARE affected by SSRI's because they rely on arousal to initiate the chemistry behind an erection which they then support by acting as an vasodilator allowing more blood to flow into the penis.

Some docs prescribe a small dosage of an SSRI to treat premature ejaculation simply because it reduces arousal and therefore delays orgasm allowing you to continue longer.

Incidentally, if you have an implant you will have a very good erection, but if you are also on an SSRI you may still fail to have a satisfying sexual experience. Erection, orgasm and ejaculation are three distinct functions and act separately from each other. Been there, done that too!

Nope, I was on Wellbutrin. Been off it for 2 weeks now, and I did not experience any withdrawal symptoms. Tapered off over a 2 week period. But I do not have any libido. My libido has up and went on me. Been this way for almost a year. Im nearing 62, so maybe is just normal, I don't know. But when I see the uro tomorrow, I'm going to tell her about this.

When I was on antidepressants, you can guarantee a limp dick and anorgasmia too. My wife read about a prescription medication called Yohimbine HCL, made from the bark of the Yohimbe tree. For years I too three 5.4 pills per day and it worked for me. That was 20 years ago.

Yohimbine has gone by the wayside since Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have come on the scene, so the only way to get it is to purchase it herbally and you can get Primaforce Yohimbine HCL on Amazon.

I currently cut one 250 mg capsule in half and take it 45 minutes before sex.

You have to TAKE CAUTION with Yohimbine. It makes you anxious and raises blood pressure so guys with high BP like me have to be very cautious. This is why I take such a small dose and monitor my blood pressure.

Interestingly, Cialis lowers blood pressure so it helps a little to moderate the effects of the Yohimbine. For years I took both because they each accomplished a different purpose. Cialis for the erection and Yohimbine for the anorgasmia.

Before taking it, talk to your doctor and study the side effects carefully. If used improperly it could be dangerous, but I have the approval from my Primary Care Physician and Urologist to use it. We closely monitor its effects.

It serves the purpose of tipping me over the edge and allowing me to climax. My implant does not do it alone.
