Am I a candidate

Postby dtwarren1942 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 7:31 pm

As a diabetic, my ED has worsened over the past 17 years. I can usually, but not always, achieve a decent (90+%?) erection and orgasm with 100mg of Viagra, pumping and a number of suppliments, However, I usually need to wait 2 or 3 days after my previous orgasm before I can achieve another decent erection. My wife and I find the schedule/frequency acceptable, but the procedure a bit annoying. If you were in my situation, would you consider injections as a better way to go?

I would definately recommend trying it. Nothing to lose, and if it works for you like it does for most, you'll have an erection like an 18 year old most anytime you want (but should wait 24 hrs between and best to do it more than 3 times a week.

I have a few questions:
1) Are you saying that I need to inject at least 4 times a week in order to be effective?
2) What is the approx. cost per shot?
3) Would the suppository gel be a better way to start?
4 Is it usually covered by insurance?
5) Is it better to combine with Viagra?

Thanks for your help

My situation is much like yours: diabetes, BPH, no cancer. I also take a bunch of heart and diabetes meds which have ED side effects. Tried the pills with mixed results. Started using injections last week. ZOWIE! I'm still working on the amount to use, but this old fart is like a 19 year old again. Woohoo! Run, don't walk to a good urologist. You might also want to have a blood test to determine your "free testosterone" level. Hormone therapy is ofen indicated for diabetics. It was not in my case, so my next step was the injections. Interestingly, no one on my medical team (internist, urologist, cardiologist) mentioned anything about a gel. Regarding usage, my doc (uro) told me the maximum frequency is every other day--shots should be no more often than every 48 hours. After half-ass hard-ons for over 3 years, I'll take every other day with no complaints. Good luck.
