Ask him to write a script for mono-mix that matches the ingredients of the Caverject that can be taken to a compounding pharmacy. It really sounds like you need a different doc.

Find a new Urologist that will write a script for Trimix by asking your local compounding pharmacy that makes Trimix for recommendations on what local doctors prescribe Trimix.

I can't believe these doctors are so uninformed or just plain incompetent.

I think your instincts are good.
I asked my compounding pharmacy for doctors that prescribed both testosterone and tri-mix.
They were very helpful and I've been happy with the results.

He should understand. Explain you can't afford the brand name stuff and want a script so you can get the generic from a compounding pharmacy of the same ingredients. The first time I had my GP write a script for it she basically copied the ingredients off the Edex package I brought in. She was nice enough to double the strength at my request so I could inject half the volume and save money as 2X strength cost the same as 1X. Note, I got my GP to write it.

Edex should work though. Edex and Caverject are essentially just mono-mix made up in the special mix before use kits. What is great about them is their shelf life unrefrigerated. Straight compounded mono-mix HAS to be kept frozen. The alprostadil of mono-mix is the ingredient of tri-mix that degrades rapidly.

Rochester. Mayo Clinic. Urology. Make your appointment now. It's a hour's drive.

You need a new prescription plan too! If I read correctly... paying $110 for a single Caverject injection is total robbery! I was paying $7 per injection when I bought a 6 month supply.
