First experiences with injections

Postby lonewolf » Tue Sep 01, 2015 8:50 am

Prostate removed age 66 ( nerves spared ? ) 2-10- 2015 . After 3 mo Tried Cialis and Viagra with no results , then Trimix started with 20 units 80 % erection 3 hours LOTS of pain lowered to 15 units same erection 3 hours horrible pain . Went to Bimix , Papaverine 30 mg - Phentolamine 1 mg first injection 15 units 80% erection ( 3hours ) and NO pain at all, very happy . not sure why the Prostaglandin E1 in Trimix causes me so much pain, does anyone know ? If I lower the dose of Bimix will the erections be less and shorter time ? Thank God for this forum to put me on to Bimix, Thanks to all. The other thing I find interesting is lack of knowledge by doctors and urologist about the different mixes and dosages , effects, etc . I ask my Urologist if they keep a data base on Injection results and follow up calls , he said NO ! The only reason I got Bimix is because of this Forum the doctors ( We have large Urologist Center ) never even had the mix on file or the mg of each compound. How about this , Bimix Cost ,Phentolamine $1.39 - Papaverine - $11.93 - Mix and compounding fee $92.56 total $105.88
My advice to ED or Prostate Surgery men is do your home work , its not all Gospel ,

THANKS

Not all urologists are experts in men's sexual health. Those who are are knowledgeable about injectables, formulations, dosages, etc. It's worth seeking out a speciallist with particular expertise in whatever your issue is - non-experts will just be guessing. FWIW, when pills stopped working for me, I found such an expert and we learned that I had no response at all to any injectable formulation in any dose.

I agree with Lonewolf - doctors are good for guidance in this issue, but they are not experts, but they should be open to experiment with the patient for the best results. I don't recall my urologist ever questioning the effectiveness of my injections. I'm on prostaglandin which as I understand is a combination of prostaglandin, papaverine and phentolemine. Effectiveness.....perhaps 50%. I was looking at recent posts earlier this morning and note that some of you guys are experimenting with your synringes. I use an 8 mm (5/1"), 30 gauge and was told to inject at 10/11 or 2 o'clock. Here I see some of the guys are shooting at the 90 degree angle. I'm wondering if the I should be doing more experimenting with the advice of my urologist. At $107.00 a refill one does not want to be missing the bull's eye!

I like the 10 and 2 locations but shoot perpendicularly (straight in). 9 and 3 would probably be best when you bend Willy to the side to get a firmer target.

My doctor is an expert in sexual health, and has been very helpful in guiding me in the injections. Go on line and find someone who is a urologist specializing in men's sexual issues. He has helped with dosage and everything. The thought of a needle in my penis, or of me doing it, was a bit intimidating at first, but it is real easy, and the results are certainly worth it! 65 and improving!!
