Medical Pumps

Postby harleyjoe » Thu Apr 26, 2012 1:53 pm

I have been using a pump from the local pornshop since my surgery last April. It seems to work ok, but it does not have any restriction rings. Can anyone tell me the best unit to get that has everything with it, and if Blue Cross Blue Sheild will pay for it or pay for some of it. Any information on this would be so greatfull.

You can check with your Blue Cross Blue Shield to see if these devices are covered. Another issue is to see who will be supplying the device. In my case UMR did cover the device, but the supplying company was "out of network" and the full $525.00 went against the out of network deductible.

Harley,

You can get any pump you like, but only some of the Osbon Erecaid pumps (not all) will have the widely preferred Osbon Tension rings. All the other pumps have cheap silicone rings which are junk. I saw where you can get the rings for $17.35 and free shipping if you buy 3. Three is a good number to get since you do want to get at least 3 types... some large .. some medium some higher tension (pink) .. some normal tension (beige). You can stretch them over the end of your sex shoppe pump as long as it is not one with a lip/flared end. They last forever so the price is not too bad.

I use a thick walled LAPump ($80) cylinder which has a flanged edge for comfort. However, I slide on the Osbon tension bands after pulling my dick out of the cylinder. I liberally lube my shaft and slide the ring down to the base and work it down a bit further by pulling on the"ears." Though I loose a bit of the engorgement when I exit the tube, I regain it back and then some by kegeling in additional blood with the tension ring on. I have the cylinder connected to a quality pump equipped with a vacuum gauge so I can keep the vacuum below 5 in/He which prevents causing damage to my penis.

My system cost about $100 and I did not submit it for insurance reimbursement.

My Uro told me you must be very careful about cheap penis pumps find the true medical pumps because the cheap ones like the ones sold in porn shops can cause damage to your penis.

Sounds like your Uro has a dog in that fight. They all do the same thing, Create a suction on your penis!

There are a number of non medically approved quality pumps and cylinders which in some respects are superior to medically approved equipment. I am not talking about cheap plastic porn shop equipment.
