My pump results.

Postby BrokenArrow » Tue Aug 11, 2009 7:15 pm

I bought an encore VED system a while ago. I was shrinking after open RRP and use of the pump has restored most of my pre-surgery size. While I have not achieved anything useful for intercourse, I have learned the following from pump therapy:

1) While using the pump, I have gotten hard enough to start to remember what an erection could be. Something 3 months ago I got instantly with a wink and a smile...every time.
2) It can be uncomfortable, but I believe it does stimulate blood flow and therefore, is valuable therapy.
3) I disagree with those that say it cannot restore, or help restore, pre-surgery size. I'll bet it does help more than is realized but, it takes ongoing effort to succeed. It may not help everyone. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
4) Flaccid orgasms for me are awful. 25 percenters were better. 50 percenters were even better. 75 percenters were nice. 100 percenters I haven't experienced yet. I'll bet I'm not the only one that's experienced a post-op orgasm improvement with increasing stiffness.

I will start mixing pumps with oral meds and let you know how that works for me.

Any similar experiences out there?

I agree completely that a pump will increase your size if used regularly - but it has to be used all the time and when you quit using it, your dick will return to its lesser size in a couple of days/weeks. I used to be a healthy 6" - maybe a bit more before surgery, and probably 5.5 after. with a pump it is up to over 7". The orgasms with flaccid dick are not great. They feel ok, but NOTHING compared to the ones with erections. The pumping action of the muscles simply does not work with a flaccid organ. The good news, is that for many guys, the orgasms after surgery...and as recovery moves along, are amazingly stronger, deeper and longer.
As I told a new guy...there is nothing erotic about a pump. It is uncomfortable if you are doing it right. The only thing cool about it is seeing yourself in the mirror right after using the pump. It is a boost to the old self esteem.
Pumps do help the oral meds. so does a constriction ring. get the adjustable ones from the sex shop. They make a huge difference if you are getting a partial erection.
BTW you are doing great for 3 months out. You will be fine. give yourself time. You have lips, tongue, fingers and other body parts to use in the meantime! Time to push the boundaries of your sexual experience like never before. Try new things. Hey, you never know what you might find out about yourself.

Paul,

Thanks for the encouraging words.

I try to use it every day for about 15 minutes. Yeah, it's nice to see the engorgement and the enlargement. Would sure be nice to see a useable erection soon, but I know that'll take time. I'm sure it's normal but, sometimes when pumping it looks like someone tried to stuff a 2 lb alien into a 1lb jar. Kinda like a bad high school science project (sorry, really bad visual, I know...).

I have tried to use my pump every day for 15 minutes. I haven't done that good in the last week and a half since my last post due to work, visiting family and other stuff. Maybe once every 2-3 days. Last night had a bit of a breakthrough. No meds, no pump, got to 50%. Even my wife noticed it, and with a smile, said "things" are improving.

There is a little discomfort everytime junior gets active on his own. It's down both sides of the shaft (the cavernous regions?). I can only descibe it as the same discomfort you have the day after working out when you haven't done it in a while. In my books, this is good. Very good...and hopefully not a sign of atrophy. Junior has started activating a little spontaneously. Hope it doesn't happen at the supermarket. My flaccid size is staying better between pumps, too. Not quite pre-op, but a good sign for someone 3 1/2 months post-op. Sometimes at work or driving thinking of my wife, it starts. A little twinge, a little twitch and a definite feeling of positive activity.

All good, but not yet good enough. I'm happy with the progress and I think my pump is a key ingredient.

Haven't yet tried the pump and meds at the same time continuously as I said I would previously.

Right now, happy with progress. Any meds I've tried have left me with a bit of a chemical "hangover" and headache. Maybe I need to get used to them more.

Wish you all the same and better.

Well, been diligently pumping. Usually having good success with engorging junior. Nothing usable, but certainly therapy. I'd say 40% average on pumping vigorously...less without...and no meds at this time. Maybe a bit of a mid-term slump. But, I'm also getting spontaneous semi-boners at random. Seems nerve A is starting to talk to nerve B. Still looking for nerve C, but that might have been at the supermarket a couple weeks ago. Hope nerve D doesn't activate at airport security tomorrow. One of the security guards wears latex gloves all the time. Her fingers are about the size of my feet. I have DRE phobia now.

Been looking at trimix-gel and MUSE. Will discuss with docs in 2 weeks.

All for now.

I agree with Broken Arrow and pump low and slow. My levitra works pretty good later.

The instructions that came with my pump just said sto[p pumping if you experience any pain. So once I feel discomfort, i stop. But lately I've discovered that some blood vessels have burst. Nothing serious. But I'm concerned that any further use will damage them more. Perhaps I've weakened them.
I'll be contacting my urology nurse to discuss this.
By the way, Paul, I'm amazed that anyone could ahcieve a 7 incher! How long did it take you to train it up to that length?

Please be advised you can hurt yourself before you will feel pain.

Low and slow is the order of the day. Usually by the time we face the music and get a pump we are so darned ready for a boner we over do it. That can hurt us.

So once again LOW and SLOW is the way to approach an erection with no damage. Up, down, up ,down........ Up and rest for a few, down and rest for a few. Play with it. Lots of lube and maybe take a warm bath before you start. Read a story, watch a video. Have her help you.

Until you work on this for a while you will not know what works now. So start working but be kind and patient.

I agree the pump is vital for therapy; increasing the chance of natural erections sooner and minimizing size loss. My urologist highly recommended this, along with Viagra every other day, and lots of research I've read fully supports this.
I've seen guys says they keep one on in the shower and while shaving, etc. Maybe that helps for the size issue, but it doesn't for getting natural erections sooner. My uro said it's important to perform several cycles of pump it and realizing to refresh the blood supply. It's the new blood coming in that does the healing. This is supported by the research I've done.

As for the use of pumps for sex; does work well for me. It gets big and hard, but flops at the base making it hard to stay in. Worse than that, the ring hurts so much I can't get enough pleasure to pull the trigger.

Trimix had been my salvation. It's quick, reliable, and produces a dick like I had before. I reach orgasm everytime. And hey; wife loves it. Just need to get the right dose to produce good wood without pain.

Happy humping

Got my new pump and started using it. Now that I'm off trimix and only using levitra, we'll see how it goes. I'm getting usable wood with only levitra. However, I think I've gone backwards in size. The important point for me is I'm having"usable" with levitra. That trumps size IMHO...for now...although I'd like to get size back. A work in progress....again. I'm OK with that and will let you know how I progress.
