How do you deal with obstinant uros?

Postby Baseballfan11 » Sun Apr 08, 2018 11:33 pm

This probably isn't as big an issue in older guys who know the source of their ED and understand their treatment options, but how do you deal with a doc who only wants to push pills onto you when you've tried them before and they DO NOT WORK? I can pay $70 for like a week of ineffective cialis til I'm broke and blue in the face but at the end of the day my problem is still here. How can I get a doctor to prescribe me higher level treatments without seeming demanding and making him uncomfortable/scaring him off?

Baseball: Simple, you get another urologist. you need a major guy from a teaching/university hospital who specializes in male reproductive or sexual medicine. You really need someone who is conversant with advanced ED treatments. you are young enough that you need to understand the next ten to fifteen years of likely ED treatments before jumping to an implant. Obviously, more pills are not the answer.

Thank you man. I'm really scared of having to do treatments for like 20 more years. I would rather deal with having an implant and the subsequent revisions for the rest of my life than continue feeling this way

I've never ordered cialis but I've ordered generic viagra for dirt cheap through Canada, if cost is the issue. The cheap generic pills seem to work as well as the expensive ones.

Thank you. I've gotten sildenifil prescribed as well (the generic) which wasn't too expensive but was not effective

When a Uro does not know how to deal with you because you are young, he will be happy to give you a prescription so that you leave his office and don't nag him/her anymore

Just tell him/her that sildenafil is not working and you want to try the others or MUSE or any next step.
If this does not work just find another one.

Good luck!

Baseballfan11,
I went to many Urologists during my years with ED. The reason was generally because all they did was push expensive pills I had already tried. I went through all the pills, injections, Muse, cock ri gs, vacuum pump with constrictions rings, etc. Finally, due to getting different insurance, I saw a new Urologist who helped me.

There was a comment above about you being young and there being potentially better options in the future so you should wait. I definitely would not. I feel like I wasted years of satisfying sex and personal happiness while waiting to know what was wrong with me. What if you wait and there isn’t a new advancement that’s better? Yes, you could get an implant and a better one comes out the next year, but at least you would have a functioning dick.

Before you jump to an implant though do find a Urologist who specializes in Male Sexual Dysfuntion. Until you know that exact cause of your issue, it is difficult to know the best solution to correct it.
