Docs always pushing ED pills

Postby Otter46 » Tue Apr 03, 2018 4:08 pm

Every time I have asked either my primary Doc or my urologist about problems with ED, I have been handed a sample of ED pills. I have never once been tested for a reason as to why I have ED or what would solve it, just always had a sample pack of pills handed me and told here, try these.

Has anyone gone through any type of testing to find out if you have for example, venous leakage or any other associated tests and if you have, what tests did you have?
78yo., married 54 yrs. Started Bimix injections in August ‘21, PA just switched me over to Trimix 5-22. 31 Gauge/5/16” needle. ED drugs not working that well anymore.
Thankful for this board & the guys that use it.

Don't accept that as a response from either doctor. Simply sat to him/her "I've tried pills and they don't work. Whats the next step?" Work on from there. If they don't work at resolving your issues move on to another doctor.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Nerve sparing - damaged. C in margin. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ ~ 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE-1 - cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.

Otter,
I had ED for 30 frustrating years and experienced the same thing you are talking about. I went to multiple Primary Care Physicians and Urologists and trusted they were trying to help me. I finally got a new Urologist who sent me for a Penile Doppler Test. The results of that showed I had a severe Venous Leak. My symptoms had been consistent all those years. Had I been able to get that answer from the start it would have saved all those lost years and a fortune in the cost of all those pills, etc that were never effective. I don’t know if the Penile Doppler was available when I first developed ED but online I found a reference to it from 2001.

I think doctors must get kickbacks from Pharmaceutical companies and it isn’t important to many of them to find a solution when they can line their pockets instead.

Unfortunately, that’s the way they are. They were the same way with me. I had to tell more than one doc, look pills don’t work at all. So they tried injections. The docs were puzzled why those didn’t work either. I saw the senior uro, he gave me an injection and said you have venous leak. I was referred to a specialist at a major university. He did a Doppler test which confirmed venous leak. Basically, Ed is either a problem with blood flow to the penis or blood flow out. I see you are looking at injections. That’s the next logical step. Good luck

At least with all the different treatments docs are pushing there are fewer guys being told it is all in their head as I was. That really screws with your mind when you don't believe it is true, but keep being told that's the problem.

By me they sell the Dr's sell the Tri-Mix/Bi-Mix injections.
They make a profit from it. I got annoyed with one urologist I saw.
Told him I tried Tri-Mix. He told me he sells it also. Wanted to know what I paid for it. I told him I was not here for 2nd opinion. He kept pushing for what I paid.
He would not give it up. He went back to what I paid for it.
Think I walked out. He was very well rated online. Then I staterted reading the comments. The 5 star ones all sounded same. Few complaints rated him badly.
I had the same problems.

My regular urologist regularly sells the pills. Told me my insurance does not cover it. He would save me some money. I got a prescription from GP for pharmacy pills.
You pay for pills or injection supplies in cash.
At least when I got the injection stuff he gave me a few needles and sterile wipes.
One urologist I told him I was thinking of trying different prescription I had not tried. He gave me a paper to call a pharmacy I can try them from.
I called they ask you who gave you thier name. I guess then that Dr gets something
$$$ back.
Thinking of getting implant. Have not done it because of the length I
have lost.

You can check the reviews of the pharmacy you need to buy, I do it on http://greyfoxreviews.com. There are a lot of good information actually.

The problem with doing all the steps is you are wasting money that could be going toward a monthly payment for an implant (if they take payments monthly) or a bank loan. If the doctor says that an implant is inevitable and insurance will pay or you're paying yourself, why wait and continue to use a method that may or may not work. Just my opinion... 32 years was enough waiting. :)
