Exercise and ED

Postby Gunzergreat » Fri Feb 16, 2018 10:46 am

Has anyone here ever felt or had an improvement of some sort with their ED as a result of participation in exercises like walking at a fast pace, lifting weights, swimming, etc., for a steady period of time?
When I say improvement I'm talking about everything ranging from a full reversal (even if only temporary) to a partial reversal to where ED drugs had stopped working but then began to work again after a period of physical exercise.
I ask because the internet has A LOT of articles claiming that ED can be reversed or improved by exercise and I'm curious as to the experiences of those on this board.
I greatly appreciate any information and/or advice. Thanks.

I'm certain that everyone will give you a different story. Mine is that I do exercise. I go to the gym 2-3 times each week, plus walking and skiing, etc. Has it improved my overall health? Yes. Not weight loss, as I tend to eat more, especially since I have my GERD (reflux disease) under control.

Has it helped with my ED? Not in the slightest. But again, that's just me.

There can be no doubt that excercise will improve your circulation, stamina, mental state. Heavy lifting supposedly promotes testosterone production therefore libido.

I think it all depends on the cause and extent of ED. When they cut the nerves during prodtectomyobviously excercise wont do much for ED. But if it’s organic it’s origin and it’s mild I’m sure it would help to give you a wood lol.
Regardless excercise eslecially vigurous sex is very good for us.
All the best!

I have been a regular exerciser for many years. My ED was never affected in any way.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

My ED was caused by a substantial Venous Leak. I have been going to the gym for many years but are no exercises to correct that problem.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

AS mentioned, exercise probably cannot help with actual ED improvement. But, if you go on to use Trimix or BiMix to 'cure' ED then good cardio health could really make a difference in your maximum EQ (Erection Quality). For me, in my older days, say 5 years ago, I was in pretty good shape -- playing volleyball and working out on weight machine etc and my EQ was a 9 or 10 with Trimix -- even a nuisance as it would take some doing to have it go back down again.

Over the 5 years I have slacked off exercise and stopped playing volleyball to save my knees for old age and the EQ has been steadily declining.

I'm Starting up exercising again -- Tomorrow!

Sexual function is the most important function of the whole man. It stands to reason that, the fitter you are, the better you are at fucking and the better you are at it, and the oftener you do it, the better for the whole sexual apparatus. I have exercised all my adult life despite severe and sometimes debilitating heart issues. I am certain all the working out kept my dick going and kept me making T until i was about 80, when the heart issues got the better of my dick's blood supply.

One of the major causes of ED is poor circulation. If that's a contributing cause for your erectile dysfunction, then you should see improvement if you:

  • Adopt a "heart healthy" diet
  • Lose weight
  • Exercise to improve cardiovascular fitness
  • Stop smoking
  • Reduce alcohol intake

The problem is that making these lifestyle changes is HARD, and most men don't stick with it.

And of course, this won't help if the cause of your ED is something else, such as nerve damage or low testosterone

Please create a signature. It makes things much easier to answer your questions without asking a lot of questions. Here's how you do it
Click on your name in the top right corner and select "user control panel"

Then under the big letters "User Control Panel" there is a row of words... select "Profile"

Then down the left had side of the "User Control Panel" select "Edit Signature" (You might have Create Signature or something. I don't know exactly what you'll get because I already have a signature to edit)

Most guys put something like what I have, but you can put whatever you want. Here is mine -
"AMS 700 (18 + 2 rte's). Implanted March 30, 2017 by Dr. Brock of London, Ont, CANADA. Great surgeon. Went in to septic shock and had to have implant removed April 29, 2017. I'm from Belleville, Ontario, CANADA. Appt. for consult for second attempt is on November 6, 2017... I can't wait."

Don't get too carried away with the doctor like his name, address, phone number, etc (anything that looks like advertising for him).. you can certainly say Dr. Jones (great Dr.)

If you need further help, please ask, that's what I'm here for.

I have exercised for over ten years. Three times a week. I'm thin and have no health issues yet I have ED. So exercise hasn't done anything for me down there.
75 yrs. old. Married. I used viagra from 2007 t0 2017. I have venous leakage. I started injections in September 2017. I've used the Xialla cock ring along with Trimix since June 2020 with excellent results. I pump on a daily basis to maintain my size.
