I don't mean to bring you down but...

Postby Reggieman » Mon Jan 08, 2018 4:41 pm

Situation: My penis sensitivity is so low that even after getting a good erection with a Bimix injection I am unable to get what I call a real orgasm by any method. I can get the sexual tension to build up to 2 (on a 1- to 10 scale) then the pleasure feeling just dissipates. There is no climax as such. I've had testosterone checked (normal range around 419 to 498) and the uro won't give TRT. I tried Oxytocin nasal spray during sex till it ran down the back of my throat but didn't help orgasm or lowered libido. Currently been on an aromatase inhibitor for a month (to reduce estradiol level which is too high at 40?). Have bought a Fleshlight to try and retrain my penis but I have strong doubts it will change anything. For last 7+ years I have used a $600 electro-stimulation sex toy but after the RP by robot it gives very, very little sensation anymore.

I'm tired of being angry and I am tired of whining and crying in my pillow. My wife's libido has always been substantially lower than mine to the point I've often questioned whether she had one. So she seems to be on vacation since I had my RP as I don't bug her for sex anymore. She can and does live without sex happily.

My question is: Have any of you gotten a script for an anti-depressant that kills your libido effectively so you just don't think about sex anymore? That thought came to me today as a solution for my problem. If I kill my libido then I can get on with my life without having what little libido I do have nagging me constantly. I'm not depressed but I am tired of being angry all the time. I've been reading the Serenity Prayer...accept what you can't change.

Your thoughts?

Within the Serenity Prayer, the courage to change what you can, is the power you have in this situation. My signature tells my story in short, RP at age 50 and then suffered from ED and incontinence.
I prayed a lot for an intervention or correction which would bring some normalcy to my life again. I was tired of sticking my penis with a needle to administer trimix and tired of Tena pads for 5 years because of incontintence.
The RP Urologist I had been going to then referred me to a qualified Urologist Specialist who assessed my situation and we discussed options that my wife and I researched for some months.
The specialist recommended a bladder sling to correct incontinence and penile implant for ED issues. Both could be done at the same time. I admit, the thought of it all was overwhelming. One day I drummed up the courage to call and schedule surgery. It has been nearly a month since surgery and I am wondering why I waited so long. Incontintence issue is history and I am now looking forward to a more normal intimate relationship with my wife of 32 years.
I wish you well as you move forward, with courage.

Other drugs than antidepressants can lower libido. As I recall, Finasteride is one (prescribed to me for post-voiding urinary dribble)

But suppressing your sexual drive is almost as drastic a step as seeking erectile and orgasmic restoration. Not a step to be taken lightly. Don't give up on having a libido (or even restoring your wife's interest in sex - many factors combine to affect a woman's interest).

If you want to join your wife in an asexual marriage, that is your (both of you) choice (and a valid one, to be sure, if you both are fulfilled). I recommend having a frank discussion with her about it. (That is another thing the Serenity Prayer includes in "the Courage" phrase.)

Good luck.

Reggieman,
I'm going to suggest you give the Fleshlight program a serious try. I'm in week 3 and I'm getting hopeful. Way too early to give a serious endorsement but I'm encouraged.

bldoink-Hoping you are right. I will start using it tomorrow. It has been a very, very frustrating 1 1/2+ years since my RP.

Make sure you follow the instructions on the Death Grip site including the first week of "Hands Off" which would include electro-stimulation.

Yes, even electro-stim doesn't work anymore. But, already quit using it sometime ago. No point.

Just tried the Fleshlight Wonder Wave and achieved a minimal orgasm. Of course, I used a porn video that I particularly like. That gave me audio and visual stimulation to aid my progress. The toy by itself probably would not have been enough for an orgasm. I'm about 5.5 inches in length (girth ?) and found the Wonder Wave a little loose so I put a couple rubber bands around the top of the insert to reduce the circumference. It took a while and the video was 29 minutes. I twisted and turned it for different sensation's (a different insert would probably enhance the effect). Heating it first in warm water helped simulate vaginal sex and it was more like a vagina than my hand but not exactly like a vagina (it has been years since I was in an actual tight or form fitting vagina) so I am testing my old memory.

I found this test less stressful than sex with my wife as I wasn't flooded with expectations of failure and doom. And, in the video the woman was engaging in the types of sex I like but my wife doesn't and the woman was obviously enjoying it. FYI: These were not professional actors but instead a guy and his wife who get off recording themselves having sex then uploading it to the internet. Professionals are a big turn off for me. Sorry.

I will try again next week following the plan for retraining ones penis (death grip syndrome).

Hope this info is of some use to someone.
