Of course you know how much you enjoy that particular food, but you just aren't in the mood for it. That's pretty much how I feel about sex. I remember how awesome it is and how much I used to like it, but I rarely get that horny feeling like I used to. In my head I really want sex, but my body just doesn't respond to stimulation like it used to.

I think if I could get some good sexual experiences under my belt with the help of medications my libido could improve. Anyways, I'm glad things have worked out for you and I'm hopeful that things will get better for me someday.

Here's another way of looking at it or you.

Your mind adjusts to whatever "normal" condition your body is. After experienced an inability to perform sexually, your mind protects itself by shutting down sexual desire.

It's a defensive mechanism. To preserve your self-image and sanity.

When you can once again function sexually (post-treatment, whether oral medications, success with a vacuum device, injections or an implant) your mind will adjust to THAT new normal. The cooperation of a good and enthusiastic woman can also do wonders. Remember, even a man with ED can still function sexually (if not with penis, with hands, toys and tongue) and kindle desire in his woman which may lead to kindling desire within yourself in turn.

I am experiencing the same exact thing. I suspect that you need to be confident in your abilities again before we will get our high libido back. I just force myself to have sex whenever I would have originally pursued it and make sure my dick is hard. If you can’t get your dick hard enough and reliably then you have bigger problems than libido at our age. I would implant...

I had the same problem. The doctor prescribed Androgel at first. It stunk like rubbing alcohol rubbed off on my clothes, and didn't work. He changed me to the injectable testosterone in the butt, once every three weeks and my libido is back to where it use to be when I was young.

Hallfighter4,
You seem very wise for your years. For me it took 30 years of frustration to get my ED problems solved. Mine occurred at a time when all the tests and medications available now weren't developed yet. Your analogy is perfectly understandable. As long as you have the hunger for sex, but not the appetite to have it, my advice is to seek the help you need to get your appetite back. You are far too young and vibrant to let years slip away like they did for me.

I am 75 and I have a reasonable libedo despite my 290 total T result. Very frustrating to have the willingness to pleasure my wife, but the equipment is not primed to go. Viagra helped for a number of years, than Trimix. Now the VED is required to make it possible.

Just like the physiology the mental and lifestyle aspect of libido are also complex. Beside the desire that we just want to get our rocks off there is much more to libido.

I’m constantly out in a public place in LA or Las Vegas in the presence of beautiful women with the possibility that I can always meet someone. I could sit at home and watch tv or porn but how much more fun this is.

When my ED was not managed I still picked up girls, got them naked, enjoyed their beauty, kissed them all over, fingered them, ate them out and found some bullshit excuse not to fuck them right away. After getting all this attention some of them are still my partners and with Trimix I made the wait worthwhile for them. Actually they tell me that they loved the process.

I have a 15 inch scar and a hernia on my stomach, no belly button, no butt hole and have an colostomy bag on all the time. How attractive is that? I still have beautiful girlfriends in their 20’s and early 30’s all the time and I’m not paying them lol. ED in a way made me pay much more attention to the other aspects of sexuality.

Libido, attraction, sex is not just intercourse. Touching, kissing, talking Sexy is a lost art many women crave much more than a quick pounding.
All the best.

Greg,

Thank you. I am really grateful that I live in a time where at least I have treatments and options besides just living with ED. I'm happy that things worked out for you in the end.

However, I was hoping you could help clarify something for me. When you talk about having a high libido are you referring to thoughts in your head that indicate you want to have sex, or that "horny" feeling you get in your groin? Or some combination?

For example, I could say I have a high libido in the sense that in my head I am THINKING that I would really like to have sex right now. However, I am not experiencing the horny sensation in my groin which, for me, indicates my libido is low.

Does that make sense? It's very nuanced and if I'm doing a bad job of explaining please tell me. I'm trying to clarify as much as possible what it means to have a high libido. To me personally a high libido has always meant that "stirring sensation" you get in your cock when you are "in the mood." But I realize for other people it might be referring to something you think about in your head.

Hallfighter4,
The actual definition of libido is more about sexual desire, not the reaction in your groin. So to get more specific, when I was younger I was always horny so I jacked off all the time and had sex with girls/women when the opportunity arouse. I used to get hard often just seeing a sexy woman or thinking about sex. I still have that frequent urge, but I do not have the same sensations below the belt. I do Kegel exercises regularly and I do get a natural twitching that occurs, but no blood flow that is creating those old feelings.

I hope that answers your question better.

I agree. Before ED it was both mental and physical. Now it’s mainly mental. When I shave, shower, dress up and go out I feel sexy. I’m contantly looking for attractive women. Mentally I feel the desire to flirt with them. I also know if I get alone with them with the help of Trimix we can have amazing sexual experiences.

I also look at naked photos of girls and some porn.
