Thinking off all our members living with the hurricanes, fires, earthquakes and floods that are hitting the world at the moment. I feel so fortunate to live in a part of the world that rarely gets the extremes of Mother Nature. Take care all, be safe

Thanks for the thought. Sitting in fire-ravaged Oregon, tracking the evacuation journeys of three Florida relatives.

To all of you guys that are living in the path of Hurricane Irma...may you and your families stay safe and take care of each other and your surrounding neighbor. I live south of Atlanta, so we are expected to get some high winds and a lot of rain. Tornado's are also a worry here as well....
Be safe everyone.

I thought the State of Ga was overreacting for Irma. I live in middle Ga south of Atlanta West of Macon.
Based on what we got here at house I did not see the big deal. We never lost power and no damage. We drove to our land to check damage the restaurant we wanted to eat at was closed, our second choice had lost power , but there steam tables were still hot. They were serving by candlight.
24 hours later there are still 800k people without power. My sawmill operator is still without power 30 miles away. Ny mom 45 miles away was with out power for 8 hours 25 miles north 1/2 of Ga power customers are without power. A man at my wife's made an intresting point we alway think public safety(police, fire, medical) but forget the sercice linemen(elecretic, cable, phone) that are out working in the storm in bucket trucks are hanging on a pole to get your services restored. In our county alone there were almost 200 trees across roads. School are closed. We drove out to our land we had to to cross over I 75 it was bumper to bumper with people headed back to Fl not knowing if they have a home or not.
Irema was just one storm. Harvey was 2 weeks ago ther are still people in shelters from that one.

So to all affected my prayers for you . To everyone that works during the storm to keep us safe and services restored.

Time to get on my soapbox

To the looters, scam artists price gougers and anyone else thinking of doing wrong or harm you chose this path, you and your family need to accept the outcome. If you or your family member is doing this dont go on tv mouthing off "a he is goody boy and did not deserive this you are " Wrong.
If someone displaced shoots you, or you end up in jail/ prison I do not have compassion for you. You do not desirve any and gipot what you derive. I promise you if I had damage and lost most everything ,I would be protecting the rest of my stuff with my pistol. Would I shoot you in a heartbeat. Skin color, immigration status, sexual pererence, sex, age would not have an affect you are a dirtbag stealing from me. Would it bother me that I did nope.

If you think God is poltical or people protecting the last few possessions is racist you are just fucked up the head
ow is the time we all work together for the better good. We will not be able to rebuild with out the help of everyone.

I will pas the soapbox to someone else.

Larry no need to Pm me I am not saying anthing else on the subject

Here in S.E. FL still no power (other than generator ), no water (emergency well pump failed ), no landlines phone, no internet. I do have one to two bars with Verizon and I do have one cold room with a window shaker running off the generator. Otherwise I don't think I have damage except for trees and vegetation. Sorry if typos as I'm not too good typing on phone. Most importantly (not) my mono-mix is still frozen.
