What is your optimal T level

Postby Flannigan » Fri Jul 14, 2017 11:35 am

Gents,

I have been using Androgel for about 2 months now. My initial T level was around 220. Not sure where it is at the moment. Waiting for recent test results. I definitely notice improved energy and muscle tone. Feeling a little hornier too but my ED still persists. I am considering going to the self injected T shots to really give me a boost.

Can you guys chime in and tell me what you feel is the optimal T level to achieve your overall best feeling ie energy, sex drive, mood ?

Thanks
Flannigan

I don't pay attention to exactly what my T level is. My doc always says it in a good place.
I do recommend injections, but my reasons were financial.
Without insurance, I found the topical method quite expensive.
The injections cost $60 for 6 months plus syringes, and wipes.
85 years
Inject testosterone weekly.
Implant on 1/22/19 by Dr Avila.
Scrotal, hor. incision just over 1"
18cm AMS 700 CX, 3.5cm RTE 100cc res
Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Monitoring it for now.
Update: On my last biopsies the cancer wasn't found.

Thanks Tomas. Where are you getting your shots ? I am about to join a clinic that provides the T shots and HCG shots along with the blood testing and syringes for $200 a month. Seems to be a little on the high side.
Thanks

I'd say it's way high.

I went to a compounding pharmacy and asked if they could tell me names of doctors who prescribed Testosterone. It turned out that it was one of my doctors, but not my primary one who refused to write it. That doc did happily let his staff inject me expensively.

He's no longer my doc.

A funny thing was his staff charged me $15 more for each shot if I paid with anything but cash.
I think I know how they financed their Christmas parties.

I'm 64 years old and my last T level blood panel showed 1300 on a scale that only goes I think to 1220. After 2 years of injecting I asked the doc to cut dosage in half. The only vast improvement I gained was results at the gym working out 4 days a week and much more energy. I'm also argumentative and frequently feel like whooping a whole platoon of Marines' asses. Absolutely no effect on ED though which was the whole idea behind it. After I'm implanted in less than 48 hours I plan to stop injecting and revert to being a calmer sexy old man. Big side effect of high T level is only wanting to go shopping with my wife so I can relentlessly check out younger women. Truth.
Became DaveKell 2.0 on July 18th with Dr. Allen Morey in Dallas, TX. AMS 700 CX implant. 18cm with 5.5 RTE's.

Dave,
I have been on T injections for several years now. For me it has had some of the same results you have. I don't argue all the time though. Wife wouldn't allow it if I did. She always wins anyway. ;) After my implant I asked both my uro and my primary care doc if I should quit the T shots. Both advised me no. My blood tests indicate that my T level drops off about the time for my next monthly injection.
Personally, I would not suggest you quit. But that should be between you and your doc.
Good luck with the implant. You will love it.

On shots and plan to stay after implant. The physical benefits just are too good for me. Plus, my sex drive seems hirer, going to put the implant to good use.

I had been on Androgel for about 15 years and it worked well for me. With the PCa diagnosis my docs stopped that. and my T level fell to 53. I was an honorary woman, and felt terrible. After nine months of undetectable PSA, I'm back on Androgel and my level in November was 583. Between that and my new bionic dick, I feel great.
