Are injections worth it?

Is it worth it todo injections if they work for 5-10 years to delay getting implant surgery?

I have heard some of the cons of injections such as scar tissue build up and also the risk of priapism. Would scar tissue build up make the surgery more difficult when the time comes?

I’m 29 years old so I could see how there would be benefits to delaying the surgery since that would be mean less revisions in my lifetime.

Hi. MWM, 69. In my opinion yes, injections are very, very much worth it for you. My god, you are a young man. Give injections a true chance. I have been doing trimix since 2008, and the med finally does not work for me. yes, some scar tissue after 800+ injections. My implant doc is not overly concerned with the scaar tiisue I have, and will do the surgery in the fall I think. BUT YOU, do not go that severe route of surgery until you run the course of injectibles. That'sd my advice for what its worth.

IMHO, yes. they're worth a try. Now, as for 5-10 years, not so much. In the meantime, use a VED to help with good blood flow.

AND...get a good urologist, and work with him/her

very very worth it in my opinion as well. I’m up to over 250 plus injections and for the last 6 months we have went from once a week to 3-4 times a week and have been having the best sex of our lives. the only downside, for me, is possible anorgasmia. it does suck but my wife having many many multiple orgasms is a great consolation.

I guess I'll elaborate a bit. I'm well into year 12 on injections. They still work great. I'll guesstimate. Lets see, 12 years of at least 2 times a week and a lot at 3 times a week. And some exceptions on the low side. So, 52 X 2 = 104 X 12 = 1248 plus I'll guess on the low side 3 times a week (I think 50% at 3 X a week but...), about a third of the time so 52 X 12 = 624 X 0.3 = 187 + the 1248 = 1435 X 0.75 for being over optomistic = conservatively at least 1,076 injections. And they still work great! Did mention I suck at math?

Thanks for the reply’s everyone! If they work that would be awesome. I’m honestly not sure what going on with myself right now. I have a follow up with a urologist soon. If pills fail then I think I would definitely be willing to try trimix. It would be nice to not have to resort to surgery at such a young age.

For some guys, its not about the pills (Viagra/Cialis) failing. But it could be the horrible side effects of Cialis/Viagra.

For example, I have Tinnitus from 12 years of using Viagra. I also have a pretty bad case of premature ejaculation, I would ejaculate in 1-2 minutes, leaving my wife unsatisfied. (Note: Premature Ejaculation is a problem that is not the result of ED pills) Also depending on who you ask (myself or my wife) the pills failed to produce a satisfactory erection 20-49 % of the time. I rate the failure at 15%, my wife rated the failure at about 50%. Although most of that is from my Premature Ejaculation.

With Trimix, I have a better than 95% success rate, Erection happens within about 10 minutes, as opposed to at least 30 minutes with pills.
Plus I am hard for an hour plus. If I ejaculate I can continue the sex for as long as my wife wants it.

The biggest downside is the extended erections. Although I never had priapism. The other downside is the need to do the actual injection which takes about 5 minutes.
I did develop Peyronies, But as far as I know, it was not from the injections.

PS. I believe injections are worth it.

When 200 mgs of Viagra became ineffective, Trimix gave me three more years of hard erections but, alas, they too became ineffective and I now rely on a medical grade VED. However, the three years of effective injections (2 - 3 times/week) was well worth it and I highly recommend Trimix.

What medical grade VED did you get? I'm interested in one.
