Quality 'FrankTalk'-like Forum for Wives of ED Sufferers?

Postby navy6587 » Sun Apr 29, 2018 7:16 pm

Still over 2 months out from my scheduled implant surgery, my wife and I had an in-depth discussion of the procedure today and I told her what a tremendous forum this site is! The experiences of men who are 'on the other side' of their surgery has been invaluable for me to formulate questions for my surgeon. My wife of 48 years remarked that, unlike me, she has no one to turn to for answers to her questions. WOW! Never thought about that. Throwing her question out to you all. Any recommendations? Neighborhood girlfriends are not the ones she wants to turn to.

My wife is the most private person I have ever known and would never discuss her sex life even in an anonymous Internet forum, or for that matter even with me. In ten years she has never mentioned my implant once.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

I suggest your wife just type her question into a search engine. She will be amazed how many times it has been answered. Some of the sites will be crude, some will be classy, some will be in-between. She may find a site that meets her needs the way Frank Talk meets yours. And she can join it, or just visit it. I have done this with questions regarding personal issues not in Frank Talk's realm, and have always found them dealt with.

I can fully understand you wife having questions, mine did too. Women are not permitted membership on Frank Talk and this has been a touchy subject in the past, one I am not interested in rehashing... there is a very good reason it is this way. If your wife has questions, her husband can put it out there to the members to ask their wives and get the answers that way or, I am told there is a Facebook page for ED that is co-ed. :)

Frank Talk does have members who if contacted have wives more than willing to talk with yours. I am looking into an implant now as everything else has not worked out. My wife has no interest with forums yet thanks to a member has went from no to going with me to discuss implants with uro. Might just ask about a PM it has sure helped us....

Adding too that after head & neck cancer, bladder cancer, and recent lung cancer it takes something to change her mind about surgery.
And as in real life for every good person you meet there has to be several horses-toots. It took me some time on FT but finally got there. ;)

I very much appreciate all the responses, both 'public' and PM! I fully understand, now, that FT is a guys only forum since I've seen some others sites where discussions get WAY off topic and seem more like a morals bitch session among some of the women who respond. Thanks, Larry, for moderating and a big THANK YOU to my PM buddy. (BTW, I am not now, nor ever will be, a Facebook member) At the risk of sounding TMI, my wife made an OB-GYN appt. to delve into her female questions and how they dovetail into my quest to become 'whole' again. When she gets her answers it'll probably be time to get in touch with my PM respondent's wife. It's all because of FT that we're talking to each other about our sex life. Can't be a bad thing! Edd :D

I think you're supposed to beat your wife if you catch her reading FT.
