Gay from Tampa, 47 yrs old, diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2012, Da Vinci robotic surgery July 2012. Used pump with no success, using Trimix since May 2013 with pretty good results. Miss the spontaneity of sex...now it is a planned event.

Hi all - 59 year old gay guy in Oakland, CA. Have been using injections a few years now, but they are becoming less effective; trying to keep going now with Trimix but the results are becoming unreliable. Probably headed to an implant.

A question for my gay compatriots:

I've been getting closer to an implant lately. Been doing Trimix, but the results are undependable - often end up with a woody that is not hard enough top with. That's been very frustrating and sometimes embarrassing. So I've talked to my own urologist recently, as well as with Dr. Karpman in Mountain View, CA. about an implant.

As a versatile gay guy, maybe my main concern at this point is this: If I'm bottoming, and I'm on my back: is it going to be really obvious - visually - that I have 3 balls - or two and a "foreign body"? Is it going to look bizarre? I realize that how obvious the pump is is going to depend a lot on one's individual anatomy; how big the balls are, how they hang, how low the pump hangs and how it's placed. But I'd really like to hear observations on this from other gay guys.

Thanks!

Hi Guys, Paul here from Toronto. I just joined. I have been on 5 mg/daily cialis, viagra, pumps and trimix over the past 10 years. I am trying trimix again. See a surgeon on March 4. The wait for surgery in Canada is 3 years. Really want to hear what function is like post surgery.

Can someone describe what post surgery is like? e.g., do you need a catheter? how long does it take to recover? how much pain and discomfort is involved during recovery? Risk of infection? etc. Thanks!

I have been on Frank Talk, mainly in the injections forum. Had prostate surgery 19 years ago, resulting in ED. Took me 18 years with no sex :( before I finally got involved with injections. Pills never worked. After trying a few mixtures and dosage finally got excellent results. At least a 2 hour hard on, longer if I use a cock ring. My advice to everyone.....don't be a damn fool and go 18 years with no sex. Now days there is help available for most everyone.

I'm 79 bi, and trying to make up for lost years. Never will. But have a hell of a lot of fun trying. At my age can't see going to a implant. If it reaches a day where the injections fail to work, I'll simply "hang up my spurs" and retire.

Love to talk, maybe show on Skype

Hi All ~

Gay man, 60 years old, in Oakland, near San Francisco.
Have used injections for several years now; they used to work great, now are more problematic. I've got a lot of experience with those, and I'm happy to share my experiences. I had been considering an implant, but the last few months I've been giving the injections another go, with not-so-great results. Now strongly leaning toward an implant again.

Raven99 wrote:At this point any kind of fulfilling relationship would be deeply appreciated. ;) But I have less and less put myself out there to meet guys because of the ED.

I know this is an old post, but thought I would still chime in...
I HEAR YA! But you just never know. Just when I sort of resolved to being single for the long run, I met an amazing man!
Outside of meeting at a naked pool party, I was pretty up front with him about my ED. He couldn't have cared less!
He held my hand as I went into surgery for my implant and will hold it again in October when we get married.
So basically, when it comes down to it, sex may be great, but if a hard penis is the basis of your relationship, then it may not be the best one.
