I saw Dr. Karpman for my last follow-up yesterday and he mentioned there is now a drug approved by the FDA specifically for PE. It is called Dapoxeten, trade name Prilogy, that is taken with three hours of planned sex and dramatically slows the ejaculatory response. IT was originally an antidepressant but had to be taken four times a day and was abandoned for that use by its manufacturer. Now it has been re-issued.

georgewhittington wrote:Yes, Dapoxetine is really a great medicine for the treatment of premature ejaculation. It is an evidence-based review of its effectiveness in the treatment of PE. Patient-reported outcomes are clearly improved relative to placebo following dapoxetine therapy, indicating greater control over ejaculation, more satisfaction with intercourse, less ejaculation-related distress.

Last I heard from my Uro Dapoxetine is not available in the US.

An interesting drug, for sure.

Is there anything with similar effects in over-the-counter pharmaceuticals? Not the highly advertised, questionable effectiveness that promise erections, but specifically intended to help intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT)?

Don't want to seem like a hillbilly, but is PE a thing? Sole purpose of your gear is to make babies, that's what it does. If you finish "too soon" for somebody, well there are ways to make them happy too. I think this whole "problem" is blown out of proportion.

Sex should be enjoyed by both. For most, that would include more than a 15 sec ride. To ignore time in the saddle as a desire by both would negate the need for an penile implant.

Just be happy with what you have and make do the rest of your life. That's what this site is all about.

Geesh..

For me it is. If one can't even get their soldier past the front line there's little chance for baby making. I've had PE since I could get boners. So many missed opportunities due to reluctance. That's doesn't seem too overblown to me.

Not the sole purpose.

Sex is conducive to bonding between two people. The mechanisms are very complicated, but very real.

If both have orgasms, that bonding is cemented to a much greater extent.

Actually it’s been around since 2003 , but is not available in the US or Canada. It is ssri and Paxil is also used off label for PE. Side effects are something that might be of concern with ssri. In theory Any SSRI can be used .

SSRIs may cause ED, it's probably not what you're looking for.

Oral phentolamine mesylate (brand names Vasomax, Vigamed) is an alpha blocker that improves both ED and PE, I suggest you give it a look.
