Hi. I had robotic surgery August 23, 2010. Gleason score of 6. Nerve sparing done on one side, partial on the other to biopsy a section of nerve. Bladder control almost back to pre-surgery levels. Using a vacuum pump and Cialis 10 mg every third day. No spontaneous erections yet. Getting some semi-erections through the night over the past week or two. Pump and rings have not led to a "stuffable" erection. Will check out the adapters for pumps showcased on this site. Asked my surgeon about injections at my three month visit. He said to wait to talk about that until my six month check. I am 56 years old, in very good physical shape. Had not had issues with erectile function prior to the surgery. Making my peace with orgasms as they are now, but frustrated over erectile issues.

Leon:

Welcome to the clan. Glad to hear you recovery is going well and they got the PCa. Now the issue is rehab!! I would say the fact you are seeing some over-nite activity is a great recovery and a good indicator of future progress. Like you, PCa, robotic surgery, great health and no ed issues before surgery. Now this damn stuff.

Keep trying is the mantra. I feel that pumping has helped me and I didn't start when I should have. But, found this site some 3 1/2 years after surgery and have seen more progress than my first 3 yrs. Had a brilliant surgeon who didn't give a "care" about erections. There is some thought that injections, in some guys, really seem to assist recovery in very good ways. I would explore that avenue. Also, I suggest you continue to use him as frequently as you can. Even a partial is a partial and keeps blood flowing in the right direction. . .

I would also predict that orgasms will improve and become a great joy. I was told by a couple of guys who preceded me down this path that Orgasms could will be even more intense than I experienced before surgery and they would last, or appear to, last longer. I have now found both of those to be a great comfort and joy; oh and fun!!

Please get involved and join in the chat. The experience of others here can be a great help.

Again welcome.

Regards,

Dick

Thanks for the warm welcome, Dick. I started using the pump about 6 weeks after surgery. It took a while to get the hang of it. I found that doing kegels or doing a thrusting motion with the vacuum pump resting on the bathroom counter between pumps makes for a more pleasurable experience. I have noticed the past couple orgasms have felt better/more intense. What a relief as the earlier ones were ho hum at best.

In general for good strong orgasms, kegels are the key.

Welcome Leon,
ED will tweak your state of mind on occasion but try not to let it control your peace and comfort in life. Some ED issues can be overcome quickly just by accepting the reality of it and other issues through various methods, technique and practice.

Back in October I came to FT very frustrated and desperate for help. What I found was a community of guys with experience, knowledge and hope beyond my understanding and they welcomed me without reservation.

One day in the chat-room I became overwhelmed with the generosity and experience of these guys and began to feel ashamed of my comparatively small ED problems. I commented “I feel like an un-hatched egg in a nest of adult birds here.” One of the members answered “welcome hatch-ling.”

Each of us here at FT have our own ‘unique’ situation and require unique attention at times, but all of us are more than willing to discuss and share our stories to help you deal with yours. There’s safety in numbers.

Come visit in the chat room and introduce yourself; we have a lot of fun.

Dave

Leon, Welcome to FT. We had a visit last night in the chat room. You are indead in the early stages of recovery. It is frustrating as time for all of us and part of all the ED stuff is finding the new you and how to get to a satisfactory position for self. In many ways with PCa surgery the results are instant limpness with rrecovery we are in the new adolesnece! Just like when we were young we were exploring our willie to find out how that thing was going to work. "Were at it again" How is this thing going to work.

Welcome
Cajun Jeff
