I believe you can can only delete the last post of a thread and only if it's your post. Prior to my posting this reply you could have deleted your post containing your question above. I believe you could still delete it if I deleted this one first. Once you or someone replies to my post I won't be able to delete it, and so on.

If you look at the upper right of someone's (not your own) post you will see two small boxes The first, an exclamation. It is for reporting a post. The second contains quotation marks. That is for replying to the post while quoting the full text of the post in your post.

If it's your post, but there is another post after yours in the thread, the first box will contain a pencil. It's for editing your post. It is then followed by the other previously described boxes. You can edit your post and even delete all text in the post but you can't actually delete the post.

If it is your post and it is the last post in the thread, the first box will still be the pencil but the second box will contain an X. The other two boxes will then follow. You can delete the post when the X box is present by clicking on the X box.

At this point to delete your double post it would have to be done by the moderator or administrator. Otherwise, all posts following the double post would have to be deleted first, including this one and any that might follow.

In the attached screen shot you will see the X. Click that, enter a reason (or don't) and it will delete your post and any replies to it.

That is not the case, at least with my browser (Chrome). Once there has been any reply to a post, the post in question no longer displays the X. That is the case even if I was the original starter of the thread. I can only delete a post if it is the last post of the thread. Larry, in your case as moderator you may have other permissions enabled that keep the X enabled.

I have the tool bar as in your screen capture, if no one has responded to the post, but I only have four buttons. I will have your 1, 2, 3, and 5. Four, whatever it is, is missing. Once anyone has responded the X button (delete button) is gone.
