I completely understand how you could have some reservations about getting an implant when you haven't had too much exposure to it, or know of someone personally who has gotten the procedure done. I have my own frustrations with how Penile Implants often are the best solution with men who have experienced the failure of more conservative therapies, like the injections you were talking about, but they continue to remain a secret to the community due to a lack of education/marketing.
In my belief this is the result of both Primary Care Physicians and many Urologists failing to correctly educate their patients, leaving the procedure to be highly misunderstood.
You mentioned that you are uneasy about choosing the right surgeon....and my advice is to ALWAYS find a Prosthetic Urologist for your Penile Implant procedure. Only a small percentage of urologists perform Penile Implants in high volume like we do, so it's best to find a specialist to help you with such an important decision!
If you have any further questions, please always feel free to ask.
