Re: How much money should be set aside for a revision?

My revision had a higher total bill than original (10 years of increased Healthcare costs).

Covered by insurance at Mayo. For those of you going private, have you entertained the idea of a health system like Mayo Clinic? Savings may off set travel.

Re: Is 31 too young to be thinking about an implant, even if other options have failed?

My simple answer & opinion: No. These are years of your life you can't get back and intimacy with your loved one, or whomever for that matter, is a gift.

There are hoops to jump through to ensure you're qualified, that many here talk to. My response is simply to the age question.

Much love

Re: Painful first cycling after implant

IMO... time. Time, and patience. I suspect you'll continue to see healing progress and feeling more comfortable with activities even after 10-12 weeks post-surgery.

Re: High pump

Your doc should give you instructions if the pump needed to be moved or "pulled down" during any point post-procedure. Some techniques used nowadays don't require this step. For example, I was told with my first implant to pull down gently during the first few weeks post-surgery. My 2nd ti...

Re: A couple implant issues.

Hi Meddman - I'm having a hard time understanding how the cylinder had enough space to work it's way backwards and into the scrotum (unless you're describing the base of the cylinder moving forward). In addition, I'm curious as to why this wouldn't be a re-sizing issue and need a new device. IMO aft...

Re: Cycling question with Titan

If you're asking specifically about the pain, IMO and experience, you're probably not fully healed yet. I have found that in both of my implants that there was still some type of discomfort at week # 4, 5, and 6 post surgery. My discomfort was usually solved with time. S That said, since you're able...

Re: Wearing a jockstrap underwear to conceal

Hi all, here's a few thoughts on my end. I think the ability to conceal the flaccid (deflated) implant depends on so many factors. I saw your post here on the double underwear, or being very specific about the type of underwear that you have for an implant to avoid the "bulge." Yes, there ...

Re: Younger guys, are you worried about possibly 3-4 replacement implants in your lifetime?

I have a question for Minnesota: as far as I know, the prosthesis have lifetime guarantee. If you get it replaced every 10-15-20 years aprox. there will be for sure new more developed models. Does the guarantee offer a replacement with a more developed model, with no extra costs? Would you have to ...

Re: Younger guys, are you worried about possibly 3-4 replacement implants in your lifetime?

Yes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. My implant(s) have given me so much that I was missing, the concern of a replacement is something I've been at peace with. The technique has improved since my first and I actually received a larger device the second time around. I've also accepted that I ne...

Re: Coloplast v AMS

Failure rate is the most important metric to compare IMO. This is any device failure outside the control of the recipient or the surgeon. Especially a failure rate of 5 years or less. Some docs seem to have success with one or the other, which should be taken into consideration. This is usually a pu...
